Youth Empowerment Drives JAAF’s New Community Development Challenge

On May 31, 2023, the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF) introduced the third edition of Spark-A-Change through its social media platforms. Initially piloted among JAAF Scholars in 2021 as part of their community outreach initiatives, the program has since evolved into a nationwide endeavor, fostering positive social transformations in various corners of the Philippines. Simultaneously, it invests in nurturing the next generation of leaders. By empowering young people as catalysts of constructive change within their communities, Spark-A-Change aims to create lasting impacts.

To date, nine organizations from Negros Occidental, Batangas, Cagayan de Oro City, Isabela, Laguna, Baler, Cebu, Nueva Ecija, and Lanao del Sur have been awarded grants ranging from Php5,000 to Php20,000. This year, JAAF plans to support ten winning entries, granting each project implementation funds worth Php25,000.

Spark-A-Change invites all Filipino youth organizations and groups, with members aged 15-30, to participate. The deadline for proposals is June 15, 2023. Additionally, a Bootcamp will be conducted to provide participants with valuable insights into project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, as well as guidelines for project terminal reports.
