Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a leading fiber internet service provider, has joined forces with Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald’s Philippines) to ensure seamless connectivity in more branches of the renowned quick-service restaurant chain across the country.

Since 2015, Converge has been a valued partner of McDonald’s Philippines, initially starting with McDonald’s Clark Gate in Clark Freeport, Pampanga. Currently, Converge powers nearly 40% of the 700+ McDonald’s restaurants nationwide.

According to Kenneth Yang, President and CEO of McDonald’s Philippines, Converge offers a diverse range of options that allow them to select the most optimal connection for each Converge-enabled restaurant. This, in turn, provides an improved experience for both customers and employees.

Converge has played a vital role in McDonald’s Philippines’ digital transformation journey, providing network connectivity to their offices and branches, facilitating initiatives like NXTGEN. NXTGEN stores feature advanced technologies such as split counters, digital menu boards, self-order kiosks, and accept various digital payment methods. Approximately 60% of McDonald’s stores have embraced the NXTGEN concept.

Both companies are determined to continue growing, with McDonald’s planning to open at least 50 stores this year. Environmental sustainability is a top priority, with McDonald’s launching Green & Good stores that utilize eco-friendly building solutions, solar energy, and other energy and water conservation measures.

Converge, known for its green fiber optic technology that consumes less energy, is also focused on sustainability. The company has switched its headquarters and data centers to renewable energy and aims to extend clean energy usage to more sites.

As of April 2023, Converge continues to expand its network aggressively, reaching over 15.9 million homes and 60% of Filipino households, making it the most extensive fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network in the Philippines. As Converge’s network expands, more McDonald’s branches will benefit from fiber-powered connectivity.
