The global apparel retailer discusses how it supports women in achieving their goals through LifeWear

In celebration of Women’s Month, UNIQLO collaborated with the She Talks Asia Summit 2024 to explore how comfort, confidence, and the liberty to express oneself empower women in their pursuit of goals. She Talks Asia is a dynamic platform advocating empowerment, diversity, and inclusion. This year’s summit focuses on reshaping narratives to enable all women to flourish and thrive.

In line with She Talks Asia’s objectives, UNIQLO empowers women through the transformative influence of clothing. Specifically, the UNIQLO Bratop is crafted to provide women with both freedom of movement and essential support, enabling them to unleash their full potential. This collection offers six adaptable and breathable garments, each featuring a built-in bra, making them ideal for both inner and outerwear purposes. Among them are the American Sleeve Cropped Bra Sleeveless Top, AIRism Cotton Boat Neck Bra Camisole, AIRism Active Bra Sleeveless Top, AIRism Bra Camisole, AIRism Cotton Cropped Bra Tube Top, and Seamless Half Bra Camisole.

Highlighted at the She Talks Asia Summit 2024, the UNIQLO Bratop took center stage as Jasmine Curtis-Smith, a multihyphenate, and Georgette Barrera-Jalasco, Vice President for Marketing at UNIQLO Philippines, engaged in a discussion about shattering barriers.

Curtis-Smith emphasized the integral role UNIQLO plays in her daily life, asserting that looking and feeling good enables her to perform at her best.

“For instance, this UNIQLO American Bra Sleeveless Top I’m wearing today is one of my favorites. It seamlessly combines style and functionality with its clean design and, most importantly, the built-in support,” Curtis-Smith remarked, praising the piece for its flattering silhouette and integrated bra cups. “I believe that making such deliberate yet subtle choices in our wardrobe is another way for women to find joy and comfort in everyday life—and, in turn, it inspires us to excel.”

“In times when the challenges of our personal and professional lives seem overwhelming, it’s as if we’re gasping for air,” remarked Curtis-Smith during a breakout session. “However, by taking a step back, tackling each difficulty one at a time, and prioritizing our well-being through self-care, we can surmount these obstacles, break free, and breathe freely.”

Meanwhile, Jalasco emphasized the importance of women serving as role models across various fields or endeavors.

In line with UNIQLO’s LifeWear philosophy, we firmly believe that clothing should enhance everyone’s life. Our commitment to innovation and attention to detail in every aspect of our designs underscores this belief. Through LifeWear, we aim to empower individuals, including women, to discover their own style and confidence, enabling them to dismantle barriers and challenge stereotypes,” she stated.
