The Nokia 8 Flagship Android Smartphone is Finally in the Philippines

In partnership with HMD Global, Nokia finally ends the anticipation as it unveils Nokia flagship phone Nokia 8 at the Manila House Private Club in Taguig.

Continuing with its signature durability and excellent performance, Nokia penetrates the Philippines’ robust market for smartphones.

“The Philippines has always been a strong market for Nokia. Filipinos, particularly those in the provinces, have a strong affinity for Nokia phones, which have always delivered on quality, reliability and innovation. We want to continue broadening and deepening our reach here, especially in untapped provinces that need high-quality mobile communication technologies,” said Shannon Mead, HMD Global Country Manager, Philippines.

Nokia 8 forerunner Android smartphone 

The Nokia 8 is revolutionizing the smartphone industry with its new features which are three world firsts.

The phone features the first-ever Dual-Sight camera, allowing users to capture or livestream moments in both first- and second-person perspective. The 13MP front and rear cameras, co-developed with ZEISS, can run simultaneously and show images in split-screen mode, inspiring everyone to “Be less Selfie, be more Bothie.”

“This marks the coming of Nokia on Android, which is clearly the dominant OS with its 94 percent share of the global market. Nokia phones are future-proof to support new Android OS versions, making it even easier for users to optimize the phone’s features and functions,” Mead said.

OZO audio is utilized in every Nokia 8 to deliver immersive 360-degree spatial surround sound. It is a Hollywood technology which promises high-fidelity playback complementing 4k videos.

The new Nokia 8 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with Android Nougat 7.1.1. Running demanding applications is no problem due to its unibody with a full-length graphite shielded copper cooling pipe that is great for heat dissipation. It also has single- & dual-SIM variants.

Nokia 3 is designed for everyday use. Five inch Gorilla Glass HD screen, a clear 8MP camera, LTE 4G connectivity, 16GB internal storage which is expandable due to the microSD slot of 128GB capacity, and a strong aluminum frame unusual of the affordable segment. That’s bang for the buck!

 

Nokia 5 also bears the same memory capacity of the former model with the microSD slot of 128GB capacity as well. It has Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, a whopping 2GB RAM, a 13MP camera with dual-tone flash, and a fingerprint sensor, in a 5.2-inch HD screen

Nokia 6 has an octa-core processor but check this out, it has dual speakers with Dolby Atmos with a smart amplifier. In addition, it features a 16MP rear shooter and an 8MP front shooter, comes with a 32GB internal storage, and a 5.5-inch full-HD in-cell hybrid display that has a wide viewing angle & wide color reproduction.

Availability and pricing 

The Nokia 8 is available in both steel and polished blue. The Nokia 3, 5 and 6, on the other hand are offered in a wider range of color selections

The Nokia 8 is valued at PHP 29,990 SRP while the Nokia 6 is available for PHP 11,990. The Nokia 3 & Nokia 5 are valued at P6,990 and P9,990, respectively.
