Strepsils Encourages Filipinos to Live Well

With the kind of weather that we now have here in the Philippines, it is a bit hard to avoid being sick. Cough, colds and itchy throat are being brought by the weather. How can we live well with this kind of things that we can get from the weather? This is why Strepsils, the leader in throat care worldwide, launched the ‘Live Well’ campaign featuring celebrity mom and health advocate, Maricel Laxa – Pangilinan to remind everyone what to do when an itchy throat starts distracting you from everyday life.  The event was also attended by accomplished Otolaryingologist/ENT, Dr. Ceasar Mejia, and popular radio DJ and event host, Tracy Abad, and was held at M Café in Makati.

Apart from Maricel Laxa’s public persona of a celebrity, radio DJ, public speaker, columnist and many others, it’s her role as mother to five children and wife to Anthony Pangilinan that are most important to her. And among her list of priorities, Laxa says it’s keeping everyone healthy that is at the top of that list.

“Especially in this weather and with everything that my kids and husband and myself are faced with everyday – pollution, sudden dips in temperature, the stresses of work and school, things like an itchy throat can easily become a sore throat,” Laxa admits. She says that in order to stay healthy, she makes sure that her whole family drinks enough water, gets plenty of rest and even has Strepsils handy all the time.

DJ Tracy Abad was also there. Her voice is very important to fulfill her role as DJ, her voice is where her career revolves. So how can she survive if she unfortunately felt like she’s going to be sick or like her throat gets itchy caused by the weather? She shared how Strepsils helps her surpass an itchy throat, an itchy throat which can actually ruin her radio show or her other events. She gave tips on how she keeps her throat in tiptop shape despite her rigorous schedule.

A new Strepsils product was also launched: Strepsils Warm, the newest variant of Strepsils containing ginger, and provides a warming, comforting sensation.

For years, Filipinos have relied on many ways to help soothe a sore throat from home remedies to sucking on mentholated candies. Although mentholated candies can soothe the throat, this is only very temporary.

According to Laxa and Mejia, the first aid for any kind of sore throat should be to drink water, rest more and take Strepsils. Drinking water is essential because it hydrates the body. Resting allows the body to heal itself. As for immediate and long-lasting throat relief, both Mejia and Laxa recommend Strepsils.

Strepsils is available in major drugstores, supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide.
