Sony Music Entertainment Philippines Forges Exciting Partnership with Indie Label Offshore Music

Sony Music Entertainment (SME) Philippines has entered into a strategic collaboration with Offshore Music, an independent label based in the Philippines renowned for its avant-garde creativity and unwavering commitment to artistic authenticity.

In this partnership, SME Philippines will globally distribute Offshore Music’s diverse catalog and collaborate to devise comprehensive strategies encompassing marketing, media promotion, artist development, brand alliances, and synchronization.

Offshore Music, led by Ely Buendia, an iconic Filipino rock figure responsible for crafting and producing some of the country’s most commercially and culturally influential tracks, including music for the ’90s alternative legends, The Eraserheads. Nestled in Manila, this label nurtures a select array of artists and bands, such as Apartel, Ena Mori, Pinkmen, Sulo, Sansette, Eliza Marie, and Toni Panagu.

Roslyn Pineda, General Manager, Philippines, Sony Music Entertainment, affirmed, “Ely Buendia has been an integral part of the Sony Music family, with The Eraserheads’ catalog under our label. Through this partnership, we eagerly anticipate working even more closely with him in the future. There’s no more gifted and inspiring mentor for the talented young musicians of our country.”

Buendia shared that this distinctive alliance aims to forge a vibrant and prosperous path for Filipino musicians. They envision crafting compelling campaigns that break the conventional boundaries of music, resonating both artistically and commercially, thereby broadening their audience base domestically and internationally. “We hold the optimism that this exclusive partnership will herald a new era for the Filipino music landscape,” expressed Ely Buendia.

Among the initial offerings from this collaboration is Ena Mori’s reimagined rendition of her 2022 single “VIVID.” This new version of “VIVID,” with its somber and more minimal arrangement, is complemented by visuals filmed in the chilly mountain town of Sagada. The reinterpretation of “VIVID” exudes an air of poise and purpose, elevated by an ethereal vocal performance that captivates. The music video boasts appearances by Ely Buendia, the band Sulo, and the entire Offshore Music family, painting a vivid picture of this creative partnership.
