SONGBAYANAN GARBAGE TRADERS Secure Over P2 Million Jackpot Prize on ‘EVERYBODY, SING!’

The weekend brought good fortune to 100 garbage traders (mga mangangalakal) as they struck gold, winning the grand prize of P2,200,000 each, totaling P22,000 for every member, in the “Everybody, Sing!” game show last Saturday and Sunday (September 2 and 3).

During the preliminary round on Saturday, contestants were given 74 seconds to identify 10 songs. Their persistence finally paid off when they clinched the P200,000 preliminary prize thanks to Vice Ganda’s rendition of “KaraKaraka,” a song that had stumped them repeatedly. The lively interaction between the contestants and a somewhat exasperated Vice Ganda became a viral sensation online.

In Sunday’s grand finale, the group had 86 seconds to decipher 10 songs once more, with an additional 10 seconds awarded for correctly guessing a bonus song. Their persistence bore fruit when they accurately identified “Kabataan Para Sa Kinabukasan” by Francis Magalona, securing the P2 million jackpot.

“This day is fated to bring joy to all of you. Given all the hard work, patience, and sacrifices you endure day in and day out, you truly deserve moments of happiness and earning,” Vice Ganda conveyed emotionally to the triumphant songbayanan after their jackpot win.

In the show’s third season, only two groups, including the songbayanan of engaged couples and Manila fire survivors, have managed to clinch the coveted P2,000,000 jackpot prize aside from this recent win.

Tune in to “Everybody, Sing!”—voted Best Asian Original Game Show at the 2023 ContentAsia Awards—every weekend on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, iWantTFC, and TFC IPTV.
