It’s official! Samsung just recently introduced their 4th Generation of foldables at the Galaxy Unpacked Event on August 10, 9PM Manila Time. What are the new features and changes from the predecessors? Let us find out in this article!
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 features a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display on Main screen, and 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display on Cover screen. It is powered by a 4nm Octa-core processor and 4,400 mAh battery; and runs Android 12L and One UI 4.1.1. It also comes with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage, with 12GB of RAM. The phone is also capable of having up to 2 nano SIM and one eSIM.
The first thing you’ll notice is the body of the phone which is now boxier than it was in the previous model. The Z Fold 4 is the thinnest Z Fold to date, and 17g lighter than the Z Fold 3 5G. The screen is now more durable with Gorilla Glass Victus+ and Armor Aluminum, and the display durability is improved by 10%. The phone’s hinge has become smaller and is guaranteed to last up to 200,000 folds. It is also IPX8 rated, meaning it can withstand water splashes or even use in the rain.
The display has 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display on Main screen, and 6.2″ HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display on Cover screen. With the phone’s wider screen, smaller bezel, and optimization, you can enjoy expansive cinematic viewing in wider portrait mode. It also boasts a brighter display than its predecessor, increasing from 900nits to 1,000nits.
This phone’s camera has also been improved; thus we can observe that the camera bump got slightly thicker. The Z Fold 4’s Wide-angle camera has been upgraded to 50MP from the 12MP Wide-angle camera on the Z Fold 3 5G. Additionally, it has a 10MP Telephoto Camera with 3x Optical Zoom and a 12MP Ultra-Wide Camera. Nightography has also been improved; with a larger sensor, it can collect more light and produce stunning night-time images that are 23% brighter. For the front-facing cameras, it has a 4MP Under Display Camera and a 10MP Selfie Cover Camera.
The new touchpad controls in Flex mode are one of the Z Fold 4’s most notable features. Social media apps are now optimized in the Z Fold 4 especially when you use it in the main big screen. With the help of the newly-designed taskbar feature, you can easily access apps in just one tap and multitask seamlessly.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display on Main screen, and 1.9-inch Super AMOLED Display on Cover screen. It runs Android 12 and One UI 4.1.1 and is powered by a 4nm Octa-core processor with 3,700 mAh dual battery. 4.1.1. Along with 8GB of RAM, it also has 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage. The phone can accommodate both an eSIM and a nano SIM.
The Armor Aluminum frame gives the phone’s sides a boxier, more substantial housing, just like the Z Fold 4 does. It’s also easy to see how the bright metal frame contrasts with the matte glass. Gorilla Glass Victus+ has increased the cover screen’s durability, and the main screen improved its Ultra Thin Glass.. Along with the Z Fold 4, it is still the only water-resistant foldable smartphone that is IPX8 rated.
The front camera has a 10MP Selfie Camera and a 12MP Ultra Wide Camera. FlexCam, another feature of the Z Flip 4, allows for hands-free shooting. Nightography has also advanced over past models and can now shoot photographs with more detail thanks to a powerful NPU and more pixels. With the Z Flip 4’s enhanced stabilization, taking pictures and shooting videos is now fantastic.

While the Galaxy Z Fold4 will be priced at PHP 98,990 and PHP 105,990 for the 128GB and 256GB variant respectively, plus, a 1TB samsung.com exclusive priced at PHP 119,990, in Gray Green and Phantom Black. Customers can also avail of the 256GB variant in Beige, exclusively released in samsung.com.
