Red Bull Half Court: A Streetballer’s Stomping Ground

The anticipation is building as the inaugural leg of Red Bull Half Court kicks off in Cebu and Manila. Following FIBA rules, the tournament will feature an exciting pool play style in the first round, transitioning into a knockout format for subsequent rounds.

In an effort to elevate the offensive intensity of the games, Red Bull Half Court introduces a unique twist known as “Own the Court.” This stipulation rewards teams with additional points based on their cumulative scoring throughout the event, enhancing their chances of securing a coveted spot in the Top 4 (Men’s) or Top 2 (Women’s) in their respective qualifiers. Each qualifying match will consist of a thrilling 10-minute game.

The victorious team from each city will not only revel in their triumph but also be granted a homecourt refurbishment of their choice. Furthermore, they will have the extraordinary opportunity to face off against each other in a winner-takes-all showdown at the National Finals.

Coach Eric Altamirano, the Tournament Commissioner of Red Bull Half Court Philippines, expressed his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Red Bull in bringing Red Bull Half Court to the Philippines. Basketball holds a special place in Filipino culture, and we firmly believe that this tournament will serve as a platform for young, aspiring ballers to exhibit their skills and passion for 3-on-3 street basketball. Ultimately, it provides them with an opportunity to represent our nation on the global stage.”

Exciting news for basketball enthusiasts! The highly-anticipated Red Bull Half Court tournament welcomes both male and female players aged 18 and above, holding an active Philippine passport. To form a team, each participating group must consist of four players, with the fourth member serving as a reserve or backup.
