Pioneer Insurance Increases Coverage for 288 Southeast Asian Games Medalists in Honor of their Achievements

Pioneer Insurance is honoring the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) medalists by doubling their insurance coverage until January 31, 2024. This allows the athletes to focus on training for upcoming competitions without worry.

Pioneer recently held a celebratory event attended by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and 25 SEA Games medalists. Pioneer Insurance President and CEO Atty Betty Medialdea praised the athletes’ dedication and triumphs.

Lorenzo Chan Jr., Head of Pioneer Group of Insurance Companies, recounted their history with sports and insurance, including being the exclusive insurer of the 1991 Southeast Asian Games in Manila. Chan expressed gratitude for ensuring the safety of the Philippine National Team.

The PSC acknowledged Pioneer’s initiative, with Commissioner Bong Coo expressing hope for a long-lasting partnership to secure athletes’ welfare. The insurance is in addition to monetary incentives provided by the government under the Expanded Incentives Act.
