Netflix Shows to Watch this month of May

Because we know you deserve to binge-watch!

These past few days we’ve shared a lot of movie recommendations for you, I hope you enjoyed watching those amazing movies and you learned something from it. Now, we’re here to share some Netflix series that you should watch this month of May or during your free time. Its vacation time and you must spend your time wisely!

Ginny and Georgia

Freshly released this year – a series revolves with Ginny and Georgia. ­Free-spirited Georgia, a mother of two kids – Ginny and Austin, move north in search of a fresh start but find that the road to new beginnings can be bumpy. This coming-of-age and perfect for parents series was written by Debra J. Fisher; starring Brianne Howey, Antonia Gentry, Diesel La Torraca, Felix Mallard, and many more. This series is scandalous, emotional, and romantic. And if you’ve liked Gilmore Girls, well this one is good for you so check it out!

Girl from Nowhere

Our favorite girl from nowhere is back for Season 2! If you’ve seen the previous season I know that you know how dark and mind-blowing this series is, well, now for its fresh new 8 episodes it gets darker, crazier, and bloodier! Nanno is back, doling karmic retribution to more students and faculty in a new season of this anthology series — and this time, she’s not alone. Starring Kitty Amatayakul; this series presented a lot of social issues such as rape, teenage pregnancy, sexuality, misogynies, capitalisms, beauty standards and more. So, if you’re looking for some exciting and powerful series, this one if perfect for you!

The Society

Next on our list is one of my favorite Netflix series, released on 2019, this 10-episode series revolves in when everyone else mysteriously vanishes from their wealthy town, the teen residents of West Ham must forge their own society to survive. This series was directed by Christopher Keyser; starring Kathyrn Newton, Gideon Adlon, Sean Berdy, Jacques Colimon, Toby Wallace, and many more. This teen US drama is dark and suspenseful, this series also mirrors our society and the reality. I’m sure you’ll enjoy watching this series and unconsciously you’ll find yourself wondering and listing down your theoried on what actually happened to West Ham.

The Queen’s Gambit

Down to our fourth series recommendation, one of the talk of the town series released last year, this limited series follows a young girl, in a 1950s orphanage, a young girl reveals an astonishing talent for chess and begins an unlikely journey to stardom while grappling with addiction. Created by Scott Frank and Allan Scott, starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Bill Camp, Marielle Heller, Harry Melling, and many more. This US series was based on books, presents a lot of social issues; this show is cerebral, intimate, and emotional. Follow our queen as she conquer the world of chess.

Elite

Our series recommendation is getting hotter and hotter, now for our next series, this Spanish teen drama started when three working-class teens enroll in an exclusive private school in Spain, the clash between them and the wealthy students lead to murder. This mystery-crime drama was created by Carlos Montero and Diego Madrona – three seasons are already streaming on Netflix and good news we’ll be seeing new season this coming June 18 with new casts namely Manu Rios, Carla Diaz, Martina Cariddi, and Pol Granch. If you’re looking for suspenseful, thriller, mystery-crime drama, well, my friend, this is the one for you!

Bridgerton

For our second to the last series recommendation, released on 2020, this series revolves during the Regency era in England, eight close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family attempt to find love. This series was inspired by Julia Quinn’s bestselling novels; created by Chris Van Dusen; starring Adjoa Andoh, Julie Andrews, Lorraine Ashbourne, and many more. And its official, another season is coming! This romantic TV Drama is witty, emotional, and romantic; this series also presented a lot of social issues that you’ll surely enjoy! If you enjoyed Pride & Prejudice for you you’ll like this series too, so make sure to check it out!

The House Arrest of Us

And for our last series recommendation, a locally produced series released on 2020, this Pinoy series follows a couple decides to make their engagement official by honoring tradition when a pandemic forces them and their families to quarantine under one roof. This series was directed by Richard Arellano; starring Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, Herbert Bautista, Ruffa Gutierrez, Rive Quenery, and many more. This Filipino-family themed series will surely enjoy your family, this series is full of comedies and romance, so get ready to feel kilig while watching this!
