My “Steak Out” of Liberty Steak House

I was invited with other bloggers to try out the Liberty Steak House at the UP Town Center. I love steaks specially prime cuts. Here is my “steak out” of the place.

The Place

Located at the UP Town Center in Katipunan Avenue just in between UP and Miriam College, Liberty Steak House is one of the restos in the now popular dining destination in Quezon City. There is parking but might be a bit challenging during weekends.

The are located in the 2nd floor just right after you go up the escalator. They have spacious area including an al-fresco balcony area.

The design of the interiors is quite relaxing and ideal for dining.

The Food

Soup, Salads and Appetizers

We were served the soup of the day which was Tomato Basil Soup. Rich with tomato with a tangy taste, it was an ideal soup for me.

Soup of the Day: Tomato Basil Soup – Php 140

For the first salad, we were served the Chops Salad composed of mesclun greens, tomatoes, crispy bacon, char-broiled chicken breast, ripe mango chunks, hard boiled egg, feta cheese with a serving of red wine vinaigrette. It not mixed so you can configure your own salad.

Chop Salad Php 350

Another salad we tried is the Felafel Salad, a mix of mesclun greens with feta cheese, caramelized walnuts, cherry tomatoes,  cucumber, marinated olives, dressed by herbed red wine vinaigrette and topped with deep fried Felafel made of chick peas shaped into balls.  The felafel balls is customized to Filipino taste in my opinion but still taste good and goes well with the greens.

Now comes the exciting part of appetizers.  First the SPAM fries, slices of SPAM battered and fried like french fries!  Served with 3 types of sauces for your dipping pleasure: cumin ketchup, whiskey mustard, and kimchi mayo. A must try! Who does not like SPAM and this one is eaten like fries!

SPAM Fries – Php 260

Next was the Liberty Buffalo Wings, sweet spicy tangy deep fried chicken wings that so delightful to nibble served with carrots and celery sticks with Blue Cheese Dip.

Liberty Buffalo Wings – Php 265

Last of the appetizers was the Dorito Nachos. Tasty nachos with chili con carne. I love the mango cilantro sauce and how it blends with the cheese sauce.

Dorito Nachos – Php 320

Entree

We sample a variety of dishes from the menu.

Roast Beef and Gravy (Php. 350)

Liberty Ultimate Steak Burger (double quarter pount) Php. 530

This Crazy Garlic is one of the best dish of the house. One of the best reasons to visit this restaurant if you are into garlic!

Crazy Garlic and Mushroom Tenderloin (Garlic Fried Rice with Beef) Php. 320

Steaks

Of course, this will not be called a Steak House without the steaks! The have steaks available in the menu categorized into Uptown (prime cuts) and Midtown (budget).

Gaucho Steak (Php 400) served with rice, corn on the cob, green pepper salad

One of the best cut of the house is the CAB Rib Eye Steak. It’s certified Black Angus Beef that was grain feed and wet aged. I loved it medium. This is definitely my cut!

Cab Rib Eye Steak (10oz – Php 1750, 21oz – Php 2500)

Deserts

The selection of desserts although limited but are best picks! I enjoyed all of them each with their own kick in my sweet tooth!

Classic New York Cheesecakes (Php. 345)

Liberty Cream puffs (Php. 195)

Dark Chocolate Cigars (Php. 290)

Banana Cream Pie (Php. 220)

I definitely recommend Liberty Steakhouse for their steaks and other dishes. Although they have mid budget steaks that are more affordable, still the place is targeted for more for the upper C, B to A crowd. You can easily spend Php. 600 minimum per pax. Quality has its price but I still believe its value for money. Food is great from taste to presentation. Service is fair.

Liberty Steakhouse is located at the 2nd floor of UP Town Center in Katipunan Avenue.
