As they say, Christmas is a time where families could hold on together and spend time with each other to remind them that in spite of how busy life can be throughout the year, our family will always be the one we’ll end up going home to. What better way could this bond be celebrated than going to the cinema and watch a family-friendly movie, where every member of the family — from toddler to adult — can feel the time of their lives? That’s right! Because another year, another film that starrs the fan-favorite and iconic Vice Ganda is one of the MMFF’s official entry for 2022, where every member of the family can watch and share some laughter with!

Partners in Crime (2022)

From the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina and the pen of Enrico Santos, Partners in Crime is one of Star Cinema’s official entry for the MMFF 2022. Starring Vice Ganda & Ivana Alawi, the movie follows the story of Jack (Vice Ganda) & Rose’s (Ivana Alawi) friendship. From how they met, how they turned on each other, and how fate reunites them for another try in fixing their friendship.

The duo of Jack & Rose’s character is a match made in heaven. Watching their chemistry unfold is always joyful to watch even if the scene is both of them still in conflict with each other. The movie also has a great way of making the audience laugh in an unexpected yet witty manner — emotional scenes remain emotional, even when it makes you laugh. On top of that, the jokes are somehow dark, but still entertaining and are not typically offensive.

The movie is highly recommended for those who are eager to spend some quality time going to the cinema with their family. The usage of jokes in the film is frankly well-utilized as it made the atmosphere of the movie remain on a lighter tone. The emotional and uplifting parts of the movie also felt engaging as the lessons they provide does not feel pretentious for a comedy movie. Watching the film may help anyone realize that the state of healthy connectedness with our friends and family will always be benign as we proceed on our life adventures.
