Mintoo partners with PDAX to feature Philippines’ prominent Digital Artists in the Metaverse

Through the PDAX app, Mintoo makes collecting NFTs a seamless single-app experience, removing the need to use decentralized wallet and reducing gas fees.

03 April 2023, MANILA – In order to launch its first digital art collection for its Artist Series, titled “New Horizons,” Mintoo, a locally developed marketplace for digital collectibles, partnered with Philippine Digital Asset Exchange (PDAX), the nation’s top digital asset exchange. This collection includes a number of carefully curated digital art masterpieces created by established and up-and-coming Filipino NFT artists.

“As a cryptocurrency exchange, we’re always looking for ways to innovate and provide our users with new and exciting opportunities. Having Mintoo on the PDAX app will expand our offerings to include digital collectibles and provide Filipinos with the tools and resources they need to participate in this market. This is something which is very timely since we believe that this new technology is on the verge of revolutionizing the way we think about ownership and value,” said PDAX CEO Nichel Gaba.

True to the spirit of taking a bold leap into a new digital medium, the Artist Series’ first collection gives a unique take on the ‘art of the possible’ and honors the opportunities that lie in the courage of embracing the unknown. It showcases a diverse range of artistic mediums, from illustrators and traditional painters to collage artists and 3D modelers, namely Alchemyst, Marv del Mundo, Lucius Felimus, Gian Ferrer, Auggie Fontanilla, Ab Hong, Marso, Lei Melendres, Shelly Soneja and Tonstee.

Director of Mintoo, Patrick Lao said, “Mintoo is paving the way for Filipino artists to enter the NFT industry. The platform offers a highly localized experience that connects collectors with unique and valuable digital collectibles from local creators.”

“By providing a space for Filipino artists to showcase their talent, Mintoo is not only breaking the barriers for the local NFT scene, but also challenging the negative stereotypes associated with Filipino NFTs, and carving a new perspective that places the Philippines as a respectable player in the global art market,” Lao added.

By offering a venue for visual artists, makers, and art aficionados to easily buy, sell, and exchange digital collectibles through their Mintoo accounts, which are only accessible on the PDAX platform, Mintoo’s Artist Series collections aim to support the Filipino digital art community.

Mintoo users will be able to purchase digital collectibles directly with Philippine pesos, while artists can now easily launch their own collections through powerful and easy-to-use tools, without having to understand the complexities of blockchain technology.

The collection will be publicly available for purchase starting on March 27, 2023. Collectors will be able to access Mintoo and the collection by downloading the PDAX App on Google Play Store, Huawei App Gallery, and App Store (coming soon) or visiting the Mintoo website at https://mintoo.pdax.ph/.
