Celebrating milestones in Philippine real estate, the Philippine Property Awards recognizes the leaders in the industry who had remarkable feats for the year 2016.
The Hansgrohe sponsored Philippines Property Awards have been the most prestigious industry award in the country since 2012. Hundreds of entries from around the archipelago are carefully and thoroughly evaluated by independent panel of judges and trusted awards supervisor BDO to determine the winners and highly commended in the different categories. The ‘best of the best’ winners will move on to compete at the South East Asia Property Awards grand finale in Singapore this November.
Megaworld Corporation notched a significant achievement by bringing home its first ever Best Developer Award along with wins in 3 different categories and 13 Highly Commended honors. The entries from Megaworld Corporation that earned most awards and commendations are the Uptown Ritz and 8 Newtown Boulevard, both highly regarded condominium developments.
The 2014 Best Developer SM Group remained as one of the best by bagging 10 awards through its various subsidiaries. One of its latest edifice, the SM Seaside City Cebu, a retail project undertaken by its commercial investment arm, SM Prime Holdings Inc. was no doubt the Best Commercial Development (Philippines). Another big achievement for the group was the Special Recognition in CSR for providing Filipinos “five-star” homes in prime locations around the country, as well as promoting a conducive learning experience for the youth by building and remodeling overpopulated public school classrooms across the islands.
The Philippine Property Awards also recognizes individuals with major contributions in real estate industry. The 2016 Real Estate Personality of the Year is no other than the former senator Manny Villar Jr., the founder of the Vista Land Group. In his acceptance speech, he emphasized that focus of the Vista Land Group will always be about providing comfortable but affordable houses to the Filipino people. Along with this award, Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc took home the Best Housing Development (Philippines) award for Northpoint, located in Davao.
The number of entries for the year 2016 has been doubled as compared to the year 2015. As a result, the board of judges decided to add another category that will give recognition to excellent boutique developers. The new category, Best Boutique Developer was won by AppleOne Properties Inc.
