Media Session with RedBull Dance Your Style Philippines first Winner, Mickey Yatar!

Hailed as the first-ever winner of Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines last July 2022, Mickey Yatar of Baguio City is set to represent the Philippines at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals this December 10 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Mickey will represent the Imperial House of Waacking and will compete against over 60 dancers from over 30 countries.

Mickey Yatar since then has been focusing on his preparations going continues on physical conditioning and lifting weights, going to the gym and strenghtening his body from head to toe, and even taking dance classes that wasn’t his style.

“I’m very excited to meet all the finalists from different countries. I’m so excited to see kung ano yung maioffer rin ng ibang bansa because I think the event itself is already a huge experience for me.” Mickey Yatar on what he’s most excited about representing the Philippines.

Although Yatar says that he does not know how South Africa differs from the countries he have battled to, he can only expect the best from this world championship.

Over 60 Dancers from over 30 countries, and only 1 will rule the dance floor at the culmination of the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals.

“I want you to get inspired by like- dreaming, and by having this kind of life that you want, that you enjoy. I want that dance that will empower you and I want you also to empower yourself, it’s all about mastery of yourself. so hopefully makita ko din kayo na sumunod sa yapak ko and one day you’ll also be one of the representatives of the country na magbibigay ng rangal sa ating bansa.” Mickey Yatar on what he want to say to his supporters and the younger generation of dancers that supports him.
