PRESS RELEASE

Marriott Manila Goes Green with Organic Revolution

Marriott Manila invites everyone to join the revolution—the organic revolution, that is!

With its commitment to serve and develop communities, Marriott Manila is going the extra mile by showcasing locally grown produce and humanely raised meats in partnership with the Bautista Organica farm in Nasugbu, Batangas. Marriott Manila’s chefs, headed by Executive Chef Meik Brammer, took some time off the kitchen to sow and plant the organic seeds themselves in the farm. The seeds brought from the farmers will be tended without the use of any unnatural fertilizer and synthetic pesticides, making the crops it will yield 100% organic.

Ideally located in Nasugbu, Batangas, the Bautista Organic Farm is a mere two-hour drive away from Manila. It is run by local farmers who also craft and sell the organic seeds which Marriott Manila bought for starters. Aside from fruit, herbs, and vegetables, chickens and other farm animals are also raised ethically raised in this farm, given with natural feeds and allowed to roam. These animals will then qualify as organic and more healthful, including its by-products, like the eggs from the chickens and the milk from the goats and cows.

The harvested crops will not only sustain some of the hotel’s fresh produce needs, but also will be transformed into special delectable dishes for the “Organic Station” of Marriott Café’s dinner buffet from Sundays to Thursdays for the whole month of April.

Other unique organic offerings will be available the whole month of April at The Greatroom. The Organic Tropical Cocktails are special blends made with local organic tropical fruits and herbs for P290 nett each. The Jungle Banana Colada, Lemon Grass and Passion Fruit, and Mango, Ginger Mojito are concocted without any unnatural additives. These drinks taste so sinfully delicious; no one would believe they are also healthful.

For a grander organic option, the CRU Steakhouse presents the “Organic Farm Wine Dinner” where one can have a lovely four-course, full organic dinner with wines to match for only P2,700, on April 25, 2013 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. It is a showcase of the harvested ingredients transformed by CRU Steakhouse’s Chef Rej Cassanova into delectable creations, paired with the perfect wine from the Philippine Wine Merchants.

The availability of these organic offerings at Marriott Manila will not only provide diners of more healthful, equally delectable options that would surely tickle everyone’s fancy, but also help create a general public awareness of a more sustainable, enjoyable, lifestyle option.
