This weekend, all eyes are on Shooting Gallery, Makati City, as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Philippines hosts its inaugural offline playoffs for MDL Philippines Season 3 and MWI: Road to Finals 2024. Bridging the gap between fans and their beloved teams while advocating for the growth of MLBB esports in the nation, the highly awaited matches are scheduled from May 10th to May 12th, 2024, at Shooting Gallery Studios, Makati City, kicking off at 4 pm.

The journey towards inclusivity for women

Following the triumph of the SILAB Qualifiers, the MWI: Road to Finals 2024 emerges as a platform to shine a spotlight on the talent and tenacity of Filipino women players. The Grand Finals are set to take place on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

The participating teams include the 2023 SEA Games Silver Medalist Smart Omega Empress, Franchise Team Qualifier winner TNCZ4 FE, along with top teams from the Open Qualifier, ONIC ZOL, and Super Monching FE.

The victorious team will represent the Philippines in the MWI 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, boasting a prize pool worth USD 500,000, one of the most substantial prize pools for women’s tournaments in history.

“This marks just the beginning of our journey to foster greater inclusivity within MLBB esports in the Philippines. Through MWI: Road to Finals 2024, our aim is to inspire aspiring young female athletes to pursue their dreams and carve out careers as professional MLBB players,” says Baizhou Ning, MOONTON Games Head of Esports.

The journey to reach greater MLBB esports heights

The MDL Philippines Season 3 playoffs are set to kick off on May 10th and 11th, 2024, starting at 4 pm. The tournament will feature six formidable teams: RRQ Kaito, SMART Omega Neos, Blacklist Academy Rough Era, ONIC Arsenals, ECHO Proud, and TNC Z4. These teams will compete fiercely for the championship title and a substantial portion of the prize pool, valued at USD 20,000 or more than PHP 1 million.

This season, the competition intensifies with the introduction of the Global Ban system, allowing teams to utilize a specific hero only once per series. Once a hero is chosen by a team, it becomes unavailable for that team for the remainder of the series. However, the opposing team retains the option to select and utilize that hero if they have not yet done so.

Acknowledging the talent and dedication of the budding broadcast talents within MDL PH, the league will once again present the Best Talent award to a caster or host. Bridgitte “Brigida” Alexandra Ramos has received this honor for two consecutive seasons and is now a part of the MPL Philippines caster pool.

In the previous season, ECHO Proud emerged victorious, leading to the recognition of its amateur players who have since become integral parts of the MPL Philippines.

For those eager to witness the thrilling matches firsthand, tickets can be purchased from slashevent.com, the official ticketing partner. Various ticket options are now available for purchase.

All ticket holders will have access to watch all three matches scheduled for each day. Additionally, attendees who register on-site will receive in-game diamonds worth 100.

On Sunday, the Lakbay Pasulong Showmatch will highlight sportsmanship through friendly games between MDL Philippines and MWI: Road to Finals 2024 players, showcasing both male and female esports athletes. Following this exhibition match, the MDL Philippines Grand Finals and MWI PH Grand Finals matches will take place.
