GLENDIDDICH’S WHERE NEXT CLUB COMES TO THE PH

Award-winning whisky Glenfiddich champions the Filipino Maverick spirit in the local leg of its Where Next campaign

Glenfiddich, the World’s Most Awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky, brings to the Philippines its Where Next campaign, aimed at inspiring others to step out of their comfort zone and encourage them to embrace challenges in order to create meaningful growth. Through this local campaign, Glenfiddich hopes to ignite the Filipino Maverick spirit, inspiring it to breakthrough into the world.

Glenfiddich has a history of growth by continually challenging itself to break new ground, setting paths that others follow and always asking “Where Next?”. Central to the Where Next campaign are Mavericks, people who embody the changemaker spirit, everyday people who are courageous enough to challenge themselves to forge their own paths, creating change even if the odds are against them.

Being the World’s Most Awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky says a lot about how much we constantly push ourselves out of our comfort zone to be better. We believe everyone possesses this Maverick spirit – one that inspires them to always look at ways to improve, aiming for the next stage in their personal and professional growth,” said Brett Bayly, Regional Brand Ambassador for Glenfiddich in Southeast Asia.

Our creativity, adaptability, and compassion combined are what set the Filipino Maverick apart from the rest. True to the Filipino’s driven spirit, Filipino Mavericks champion powerful and valuable ideas that can break through the global arena and transform cultures beyond our islands.

With Glenfiddich’s objective to inspire the same sentiment amongst Filipinos, the Where Next campaign aim to gather Filipino Mavericks from wherever they are in the Philippines, and provide them with a collaborative platform.

This advocacy becomes a reality through The Where Next Club—a series of curated gatherings composed of select Filipino thought leaders, entrepreneurs of all levels, and visionaries of their time—designed to converse, deliberate, and search for the most outstanding Filipino Mavericks, who possess ideas and/or initiatives worth evolving into the next Filipino global idea. Adding a Filipino touch to this global campaign, the Mavericks and their ideas will be categorized according to strong values that define Filipinos as people—bayanihan, diskarte, aruga, and likha at katha.

Brett Bayly (Regional Brand Ambassador for Glenfiddich in Southeast Asia), Reginald Phelps Laguna (Chief Technology Officer of Cleenvent), Bernadette De Los Santos (Founder of Bidibidi Enterprise), Dan Bercasio (Gawad Kalinga Executive Director), Benedict Mariategue (Young Entrepreneur), Nikita Yu (VP for Finance, Prime Philippines), Ma. Leonelle De Leon-Sandoval (Founder of Evegrocer), Gil Bien (Founder of Cuboid)

Chosen to inspire our Filipino audiences with their breakthrough endeavors are these selected Mavericks corresponding to each value:

  • Gil Bien, Cuboid (Bayanihan) – a Production Designer, Artist, and Innovator. With the Philippines being in the Pacific typhoon belt, Bien created a budget-friendly, easy-constructed, and typhoon-resilient housing for the challenged Filipino community.
  • Ma. Leonelle De Leon – Sandoval, EveGrocer (Diskarte) – Founder of a startup that pushes sustainability in our day to day consumption as a solution to the rising global plastic problem.
  • Reginald Phelps Laguna, Cleenvent (Aruga) – Chief Technology Officer of the startup that offers an energy-based technology to a common household challenge. In the long run, the team aims to offer a wider range of innovations for households that lead a sustainable, healthier, and better quality of life.
  • Bernadette De Los Santos, Bidibidi Enterprises (Likha at Katha) – an Artist, Entrepreneur, Farmer, and environmentalist, who runs an enterprise that inspires women to break through the entrepreneurial scene by reliving a forgotten artform.

The Where Next Club will be a one-day event on the 15th of November 2022, gathering select Filipino Mavericks, members of the media and key opinion leaders to witness, discuss and discover the undying Filipino Maverick spirit, espoused, and championed by Glenfiddich. The event will be facilitated by Mentors from select industries:

  • Isabel Cuevas – one of the pioneers and trustees of Gawad Kalinga, a global movement that transforms slums into peaceful and productive villages. She started as the youth coordinator in one of the first communities of GK, working with over 2,000 youth in the most troubled urban slums in Metro Manila
  • Jet Yu – Founder and CEO of Prime Philippines, the fastest-growing commercial real estate advisory group, one of the first movers of the new Central Business District. Yu was one of the panelists and judges of the business reality show, Final Pitch.
  • Benedict Mariategue – A young entrepreneur with several start-ups and partnerships up his sleeves, such as a coffee café, music school, and a production house.

The initiative will wrap up with a culminating event recognizing the top Maverick, whose idea is most sustainable, valuable, and groundbreaking to break into the world.
