French Mobile Wiko T10 sparks joy of Gift-givers this Christmas

Looking for a budget phone this Christmas? Along with the T50, newcomer French mobile maker WIKO released the budget T10. A PHP 6,499 smartphone boasting a modern and stylish look, big screen, large battery capacity, and many more.

Let’s find out if this phone is worth getting this 11.11 Sale.

Unboxing

The phone is placed inside a white box with bright, clear branding for the corporation. A picture of the phone’s front and back as well as information about its storage capacity—128GB for our review unit—are also included on the box’s surface. As soon as we open the box, the real unit itself awaits us. A paper overlay covering the display provides a brief overview of what the WIKO T10 will offer:

• 64GB Large Storage;

• 6.5″ Edgeless Dewdrop Display;

• 5000mAh large battery; and

• 13MP camera.

A little white box with some paperwork and the SIM eject tool is placed next to the device. The USB-A to USB-C charging cable, which is an advantage for the WIKO T10 given its low price point, and a 10W power adapter make up the remaining goods, which are located at the bottom of the box.

The transparent film is already pre-installed on the phone’s display; and if you’re looking for a case and headphones, you won’t be able to find them here.

Design

A waterdrop notch designed for the front camera sensor distinguishes the front panel of the WIKO T10. At 6.5 inches, the device’s screen is quite vast, and its glass composition is slightly curved. Users enjoy a large 89.3% screen-to-body ratio thanks to its 2.13 mm small bezels and bearable chin.

The phone has a large frame with measurements of 163.94 x 75.79 x 8.97 mm, but it only weighs at only 192 grams. Although the frame holding up the phone’s chassis appears to be made of aluminum, it is actually plastic. The ports and buttons are located where they usually are:

• volume rocker and power button (right);

• SIM tray with two slots: SIM slot + hybrid slot for SIM and microSD (left); and

• 3.5mm jack, microphone, charging port, speaker grille (bottom).

The back panel, on the other hand, features a textured surface with 3D geometric motifs. For easy handling, it has a curved back and rounded sides. Even though the panel is composed of sturdy plastic, the Emerald Green color option exhibits a younger aesthetic for the users.

Given its pricing point, it’s very understandable that the WIKO T10 only offers one back camera. The camera module’s sensor is accompanied by an LED flash and the tag that reads “13MP camera.” It does not specifically state that it is an AI lens, but we will learn more about it in the review for we will also tackle the phone’s camera on the following sections.

Display

The smartphone’s 6.5-inch HD+ (720 x 1600p) display is housed within. We can anticipate the WIKO T10’s display to have exceptional viewing angles because it is an IPS LCD panel. Additionally, a 60Hz screen refresh rate is included. With these discussed, it is anticipated that your battery life would go farther.

Some of the display features are “Dark theme,” which, when enabled, also helps you save battery, and “Night Light,” which filters dangerous blue light that can interfere with your ability to sleep.

Hardware and Performance

The WIKO T10 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio A22 (12 nm) processor, which offers respectable performance for inexpensive handsets in terms of everyday use. A quad-core processor running at 2.0 GHz is used by the SoC. It supports 4GB of RAM for multitasking and 128GB of ROM. I must admit that the WIKO T10 stands out from its rivals in this market segment due to its large storage capacity, as others only have 64GB or even 32GB; if that is not enough, storage can be further expanded via microSD for up to 512GB in a hybrid slot.

In our actual experience with this budget phone, it’s good enough to play most games, even Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and shooting games at playable FPS. The chip also produces less heat during heavy usage and consumes less power. Users who also love to binge-watch will enjoy the screen offering together with the capable loudspeaker of the handset.

For synthetic benchmark aficionados, here are the scores we’ve got with the handset:

• AnTuTu score: 98044

• Geekbench score: 142 Single-Core | 506 Multi-Core

It’s also worth mentioning that the WIKO T10 does not have a fingerprint scanner for biometrics. Face unlocking is also not on board. What it does have is only the standard set of screen locks for security purposes (like PIN, Pattern, etc.).

Camera

With regard to optics, the WIKO T10 has a single 13MP rear camera with autofocus and an LED flash. You will feature a 5MP camera with screen flash and AI beauty algorithms for taking selfies.

Video, Photo, and Beauty are the three primary features of the native camera app. Both the front and back cameras support recording in the 1080p format. You can choose from options for the “Photo” feature including “Panorama,” “Professional,” “Night,” and “Time-lapse” (these modes are also available when you record videos). When capturing pictures, you can also use additional settings, such as turning on AI or geotagging. You can experiment with stickers and a few upgrades, such as “Skin,” “Whitening,” and “Rosy,” for the “Beauty” function. Additionally, you can adjust your outputs using simple tools like filters, rotation, and crop.

The shutter of the camera operates slowly. When taken in a setting with appropriate lighting, photos have a respectable quality and the right amount of detail.

The contrast and vibrancy, though, demand greater strength. For a low-cost phone, the dynamic range and colors are decent. The majority of details are obscured and colors are muted under low light.

Here are a few examples of the WIKO T10 cameras’ work:

Battery

Powering the WIKO T10 is a sizable 5000 mAh battery. It has intelligent power-saving technology that enables the phone to use power consumption effectively to increase battery life. 30 hours of calling, 20 hours of video, or 50 hours of audio are included with a full charge, according to WIKO. The battery may easily last a full day with fair to moderate use, according to our usage.

I appreciate that the WIKO T10 comes with a USB-C charging cord in the box. The phone supports 10W charging, and you can anticipate that it will charge completely (from 0% to 100%) in around 3 hours.

Software

WIKO T10 ships with Android 11 Go Edition. This forked version of Android is developed to cater to budget phones with modest hardware providing smoother user experience and better overall performance. This results in faster app launches, app switching, and it also comes with privacy features. Aside from that, the set of Google apps are also in their “light version” compared to their standard counterparts, which in turn consume less memory, storage space, and mobile data.

The Wrap

A respectable phone, the WIKO T10. Despite being an inexpensive option, its feature set allows for more versatility. When compared to its competitors, its camera is adequate, and I appreciate the phone’s larger capacity and practical design.

The price of the WIKO T10 in its 2GB + 64GB configuration is Php 4,999. The company’s main e-commerce websites offer great discounts, and WIKO stores across the country carry the product as well.
