On Your Wedding Day is a 2018 South Korean romantic comedy film about two people’s ten-year love and friendship from teenage to adulthood. SYNOPSIS

He then meets Seung-Hee (Park Bo-Young), a new transfer student, and falls in love with her at first sight. Seung-Hee, on the other hand, doesn’t like Woo-Yeon. However, they pretend to date in order to avoid the other male classmates. Seung-Hee also requests that he refrain from fighting. He follows through on his commitment, and their friendship blossoms into a true loving connection. Seung-Hee contacts Woo-Yeon one day and advises him to take care of himself. She then departs from the town.

And these are the reasons on why you should watch “On Your Wedding Day.”

ITS STORY PLOT!

The way how the story runs is so smooth. It is neither fast-paced nor slow-paced. It is not boring! Every scene is interesting. I am also loving how every transition is entertaining. However some of the scenes are too vulgar. Story may be a typical one and common but that is okay. They have added spice that could make the viewers’ emotions and feelings move. They have served us a lesson (which will be tackled later hehe) without being too cheesy and unrealistic. It is somehow could touch everyone’s hearts and could break I guess? Oops, spoiler haha.

ITS CHARACTERS!

Bestieeee, I really really hate Woo Yeon at first! He is so manipulative. He is like that walking red flag, a sad boy. However, character development is present hellooo? He began to change, and Seung Hee caused that change! Love has changed Seung Hee. Not until in the latter part…

On the other side, Seung Hee’s a cool girl. She have this cold yet amazing aura that could make your eyes focus on her. She’s strong and bold and of course, she is so pretttyyyy!! Yup, that’s for sure the reason why Woo Yeon fell in love with her. However, on the latter part of the film, I am starting to question her character, like why would she have to do that?? Like, for realll??? But looking for the other side, It’s also Woo Yeon’s fault on why Seung Hee did it.

I would also like to add the other characters specifically the friends of Woo Yeon. They are so funny! It is really something that depicts the reality between true friends. I love how they always give their support for Woo Yeon. They are so understanding and nice not only for Woo Yeon but also for Seung Hee, and that is a green flag!!

In addition, I would like to praise the amazing one-on-one conversation of the two leads in the ending part. It is so realistic and could relate to most of the viewers. It somehow gave a peace of mind to me, yet the heartache’s still here.

ITS CASTS!

As I have stated earlier, Park Bo Young plays the role of Seung Hee. I know Bo Young because of her hit series not only in the South Korea but also here in the Philippines, “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.” I really really find her cute. She’s one of my dream girls actually when it comes to the Korean actresses. There’s nothing she could never do! Heavy acting? Check! Romance? Check! Comedy? Check! All of these are evident in this film, and you should witness that!

On the other hand, Kim Young Kwang is not familiar for me. I started to know him because of this movie. I find him cute though so I’ve dig deeper about him and watched the “D-DAY”, one of his Korean drama. The way on how he perfectly portrayed and suits him onto this role is so amazing! He have a masculine-like appearance which makes him more attractive and I think, that is really perfect on what kind of man Woo Yeon is.

ITS AMAZING USE OF THE ELEMENTS OF A FILM!

CINEMATOGRAPHY– bestieee, I could never disagree with the fact that South Korea’s one of the best country who’s producing a film with an excellent cinematography. And of course, On Your Wedding Day is one of these! There’s nothing I could ask for more. I just love the way how it is!

EDITING– Just like what I have said earlier, how the story runs is so smooth. And that was the result of a good editing! The transitions are on point. Plus the color grading which makes the mood of the film very interesting and entertaining.

SOUND– Huhuhuhu… Because of the sounds and music that they have used in this film, my heart’s still aching. It is something which also made myself hook in this literary masterpiece:(( The background music’s on point. It is really commendable!

ITS LIFE LESSONS!

There are a lot of life lessons that we could get in this masterpiece. And for that, I’ll be listing them all!

  • Love is all about timing. – No matter what you do, after all, everything is about timing. You may feel kilig for this moment, but we don’t know when will it last. Grab all the opportunities you may take. There’s nothing wrong in trying. Kaya ano pang hinihintay mo? Umamin ka na rin sa crush mo… pero humanap ka ng tamang timing.
  • Life is not a fairytale. – Do not expect that there’s always a happy ending. You can not always get what you want. This is life, after all. In the end, there’s always something that will unexpectedly come in your life. Just face it confidently and soon, you’ll find the perfect happy ending.
  • People come and people go. – The idea that some people are supposed to come in to your life and change you, while remaining as a lovely memory you will cherish in the future. The fact that you loved someone so passionately will motivate you to keep going because it will remind you that you have experienced genuine love and that you are capable of it, and that is enough.
  • Learn to let go. – It’s not unusual to have to let go of someone you once loved. Yes, it’s painful, it’s hurtful, it sucks, it’s terrible, but sometimes you and them are simply not meant to be. And sometimes, loving and letting go is better than never loving at all.
  • Do not take someone for granted. – People also have limits. Taking them for granted could also hurt them. No one wants to be taken for granted, right? It doesn’t mean that they love and care for you, you can do whatever you want to them.

CONCLUSION

To conclude everything, I find this film very relatable to every teenagers and adults. There’s always a specific moment in our life where we experience these kind of things. And yeah, I highly recommend this film for you to watch and add on your watchlists. You will not regret watching this, promise! Just make sure to ready your heart and tissues for a painful…
