Filipino Film Directors Partners with Huawei Film Awards!

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – was a day filled with creativity and passion as Huawei held the Huawei Film Awards, a grand showcase of the gift and talent of Filipinos. Alongside several videos aired that day, like the short films from Pepe Diokno and Sid Maderazo, both famous directors in the Philippines, and the music video of singer-songwriter Reese Lansangan, was the official launch of Huawei’s CSR documentary by filmmaker and humanitarian, Lyka Gonzalez.

Through the HFA and Huawei’s groundbreaking smartphones, it empowers filmmakers to expand their scope and freedom to create breath-taking films. As a global tech brand known for its innovative approaches, Huawei carries on to develop ways for its consumers to unleash their creative potential. Producing creative visions into tangible works of art was possible using Huawei’s Mate 30 Pro 40MP Cine Camera, which supports a variety of shooting modes.

Anna Oposa, Save Philippine Seas’ Executive Director, expressed how the partnership with Huawei has not only given their organization a chance to be recognized more but also the various projects under them. Huawei has always been at the forefront of developing technology and pushing what can be and what possibilities are. ” This is I hope the beginning of what is a deeper relationship with Huawei as we work together to reimagine possibilities”.

Directors Pepe Diokno, Sid Maderazo, and Lyka Gonzalez were all joined by Anna Oposa and Huawei Marketing, Steph Co and Kim Chua to formally open the exhibition to the public.

It is equipped with the HUAWEI Kirin 990, supported by long-lasting battery life, seamless SuperCharge, EMUI 10, and the biggest camera upgrade, boasting the world’s first 40MP dual main camera. The Huawei Film Awards is a testament to how users across the world continue to stay true to #RethinkPossibilities.

The Asia Pacific Regional Huawei Film Awards is set to happen this coming March in Thailand where several awards including APAC Best Director, APAC Best Actor, APAC Best Cinematography, and Best Film in the Country Level will be announced. Together with the Huawei Film Awards, Huawei also officially launched its CSR Gallery alongside a Mate 30 5G Series roadshow in SM Aura.
