Good Chemistry: The Story of Elemental

Join Pixar director Peter Sohn on a lighthearted and personal odyssey as he unveils the inspiration behind Disney and Pixar’s feature film, “Elemental.” In “Good Chemistry: The Story of Elemental,” we follow the journey of his parents from Korea to New York, explore his father’s former grocery store in the heart of the Bronx, and gain insight into his decision to pursue a career in animation instead of the family business. This delightful documentary unveils the unexpected influences that shaped the creation of the comedy-adventure “Elemental.” Directed by Tony Kaplan and produced by Sureena Mann, “Good Chemistry” offers a charming glimpse into the creative process.

Carl’s Date

Written and directed by Academy Award® nominee and Emmy® Award winner Bob Peterson, with Kim Collins as the producer, “Carl’s Date” unfolds as Carl reluctantly agrees to embark on a date with a lady friend, despite being utterly clueless about modern dating norms. Dug, ever the helpful and loyal friend, steps in to ease Carl’s pre-date anxiety and imparts some tried-and-true advice on making friends—albeit from a dog’s perspective. This new short film, which made its theatrical debut in front of “Elemental” on June 16, joins the existing collection of shorts titled “Dug Days.” These shorts chronicle the comical misadventures of the endearing pup with the state-of-the-art collar and are currently available for streaming on Disney+.
