Crosswinds: Perfect Destination for Vacation and Soul Searching During Lenten Season

Tagaytay, with its relaxing weather, lush greens, pine trees, beautiful landscapes, and pineapple fields, has become more than just a place for vacation. It has become a home away from home, perfect for bonding with family and friends.

Thanks to its closeness to nature, which also rejuvenates the soul, Tagaytay has also become a popular destination for retreats and recollections among young students, working professionals, and religious groups.

One particular spot that continues to draw in both local and foreign tourists is the Crosswinds Resorts Suites. Its ever-evolving massive commercial development never fails to awe visitors, especially with the yearlong cold breeze that revitalizes energy.

As the five-day Lenten holiday approaches, locals are expected to flock to Tagaytay to either enjoy a much-needed vacation, complete the traditional Visita Iglesia, attend a Holy Week retreat, or observe traditional customs.

Crosswinds, a Villar-owned property development, has prepared for the influx of families and groups who will be booking for the long Lenten holidays. While guests can enjoy immersing themselves in the scent of 35,000 trees and the lovely surroundings of this exclusive enclave, they can also satisfy their appetites – even during Holy Week.

Aside from offering meatless food options that can be ordered from its sleek cafes and restaurants, Crosswinds will also provide egg-citing surprises for both the young and the young-at-heart on Easter Sunday (April 9). So whether you choose to hole up in your room or trek around Crosswinds, be sure to indulge in all the wonders that this place has to offer.

Andersen’s Bakery

Imagine waking up to the mouth-watering aroma of freshly-baked bread and treating yourself to a Walnut Cranberry or Double Chocolate Croissant, paired perfectly with your coffee brew, just a stone’s throw away from your hotel room. Well, that dream can become a reality at Andersen’s Bakery.

Named after the famous literary fairy tale author Hans Christian Andersen, Andersen’s Bakery has a unique story to tell through its bread. The cozy ambiance of the bakery is perfect for spending some quality time, whether it’s reading a book or simply disconnecting from the digital world.

Visitors to the exclusive enclaves of Crosswinds are often captivated by the quaint stores that can be found within. Andersen’s Bakery is certainly no exception and is a must-visit destination for those looking to indulge in freshly-baked bread and a charming atmosphere.

Ruined Project

Nestled amidst towering pine trees, Ruined Project is another picturesque coffee brand under the Villar Group. It is the 50th branch of Coffee Project, with the only difference being the addition of fresh plants amid a rustic interior. The café is situated in the Swiss-inspired Crosswinds, providing a serene and scenic atmosphere to enjoy your coffee.

In addition to its regular menu, Ruined Project is offering a shrimp and crabstick salad this Lenten season for those observing a no-meat policy or those who prefer healthier food options.

Ruined Project derives its name from the fact that construction was halted when Taal Volcano erupted in 2020, which was then further prolonged by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the unique interiors were designed to provide customers with a wonderful view of nature within Crosswinds. Visitors are encouraged to roam around, take pictures, and enjoy the good food while sipping espresso-based concoctions at Ruined Project, soothing not just their senses but their weary souls as well.

Windmill Lausanne

Inspired by Swiss architecture, Windmill Lausanne rose amidst the busy pandemic that affected the world. It bears similarity to the Windmill in Solvang, California, which, in turn, was inspired by Switzerland. Windmill Lausanne is situated in Crosswinds’ rolling terrain and lush greens, providing a serene and scenic atmosphere for its customers.

Constructed amid a backdrop of blue skies and a beautiful sunset, Windmill Lausanne provides a breathtaking experience for customers. The windmill and its balcony evoke scenes from a Shakespeare novel, making it perfect for taking memorable photos.

For the observance of the Holy Week, Windmill Lausanne offers seared salmon with pesto. Additionally, mouth-watering food such as chicken cordon bleu, French toast with bacon, mushroom soup, spaghetti meatballs, and drinks such as Blue Citrus Creamy Frappe and Brown Sugar Choco Frappe are also available. Don’t forget to try the Blueberry Danish and Raspberry Danish!

Napa

Indulge in a satisfying breakfast with Napa’s Sausage Duo or opt for a healthier meal with the addition of Founder Provencale to their menu.

Napa, a cabin-themed cafe in Tagaytay inspired by Napa Valley in California, offers a rustic interior and a relaxing ambiance, adding to the feeling of contentment while dining at the establishment, also located in Crosswinds.

The mountain air in this part of the city makes the visit all the more worthwhile, whether for dine-in or alfresco dining. Children can also enjoy running around the open area with teepee huts and wooden tables.

Head to Napa for a satisfying breakfast, and try their hot and cold drinks crafted to your liking. Specials on the menu include Black Smoked Pasta, Chicken Alfredo, Margherita Pizza, and Beef Onion Pizza.

Cafe Yama

During this Lenten season, Cafe Yama invites you to try their meatless options for a guilt-free food trip. Located uphill at Crosswinds, the café offers a stunning view of green fields and trees.

Satisfy your cravings with their authentic Chicken Fried Rice and Shrimp Teppanyaki, tempura, sashimi, sushi, stir-fried dishes, rice bowls, and noodles. You can also quench your thirst with their Matcha Cheese Latte, Shinzu Grape Juice, other fruit juices, and coffee blends.

Adding to the dining experience are traditional Japanese ornaments such as lanterns, parasols, and murals that complement Cafe Yama’s menu. The cafe’s name, which means “mountain,” perfectly fits its location and ambiance.
