Conectados – A Multimedia Project at Ayala Museum

On November 8, I attended the opening of the Conectados exhibit at the Ayala Museum.  Conectados is a multimedia projected participated by 29 artist from 3 different countries: Philippines, Spain and Mexico.  The museum was packed with the excited crowd of this different type of exhibit.

What is different is that it is not because it’s multi-media and collaboration of 3 different countries, the exhibit will be in public view via video projection of exhibition photographs at five primary locations in the Makati Central Business District: Ayala Museum, Glorietta 5, Greenbelt Fashion Walk, The Link, and Tower One and Exchange Plaza arch. That’s different!

You can of course still visit Ayala Museum to see the actual photographs and also see the photographs being project inside the museum.

FILIPINO, SPANISH AND MEXICAN ARTISTS PARTICIPATE IN CONECTADOS

MAKATI CITY—Ayala Museum and Embajada de España en Filipinas, in partnership with Instituto Cervantes, Indochina Strings, and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (La Camara), will present CONECTADOS, a multimedia project participated by 29 artists from the Philippines, Spain and Mexico.

The program includes an exhibition of photographs by award-winning local, Spanish and Mexican
photographers at the Ground Floor Gallery of Ayala Museum from November 9-25, 2012. Featured
photographers include Jaime Zobel, Neal Oshima, Frankie Callaghan, Rosscapili, Kidlat de Guia, and Wig
Tysmans (Philippines); Cesar Caballero, Suso33, Emilio Vigara Leyva, Nacho Sayas, Jose Manuel Navia, Txema Salvans (Spain); Luis Arango, Cecilia Hurtado, Santiago Arau, and Pablo Lopez Luz (Mexico).
World-renowned Spanish multimedia artist Suso33 will conduct a one of kind laser graffiti performance during the launch on November 8, 2012.

Premiering also on November 8 is the public video projection of exhibition photographs at five primary
locations in the Makati Central Business District: Ayala Museum, Glorietta 5, Greenbelt Fashion Walk, The Link, and Tower One and Exchange Plaza arch. The public multimedia projections will be conducted from until November 12 from 6:00-11:00 PM, but will also be viewable inside Ayala Museum during the whole exhibition period.

Several collateral activities, including lectures, workshops and film screenings, are lined up in the duration of
CONECTADOS. These will be held at Ayala Museum, Instituto Cervantes, and Kanto Gallery at The Collective.

CONECTADOS is co-curated by Cesar Caballero, Spanish artist residing in the Philippines, and Kenneth
Esguerra, Ayala Museum’s Senior Curator and Head of Conservation.
