City di Mare Welcomes Cebu’s Sinulog Festival for its Second Consecutive Year

Every January, Cebu becomes a magnet for approximately 500,000 visitors worldwide, drawn to partake in one of the country’s most significant and widely celebrated festivals—the Sinulog Festival. This vibrant event showcases colorful costumes, fluvial parades, and endless music, all dedicated to honoring the image of the Child Jesus—Sto. Niño de Cebu.

This year, the festivities reached new heights of grandeur and color as City Di Mare (CDM), the premier coastal township spanning 58 hectares along South Road Properties (SRP), hosted the Sinulog Festival for the second time. Welcoming both Cebuanos and tourists, the culmination of the Sinulog festivities took place at CDM’s expansive 3-hectare Events Grounds.

With 30 percent of its property devoted to open and green spaces, CDM stands out as the go-to destination for diverse outdoor events post-pandemic. From concerts such as the Aurora Festival and Summer Pop Up featuring popular OPM and homegrown artists to sporting competitions like runs, endurance races, and dragon boat competitions, CDM has become a hub for community engagement and celebration.

Situated just 21km away from Mactan-Cebu International Airport, 7km from the newly opened Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway, and 6.6km from Cebu City, CDM boasts an accessible location. Positioned within major thoroughfares like the Cebu South Coastal Road and Imus Avenue, it is easily reachable for residents and visitors alike. Dedicated shuttle buses to CDM enhance public access to SRP, promoting increased foot traffic and fostering business investments in the district.

Moreover, CDM enjoys a strategic advantage due to its location within SRP, poised to emerge as Cebu’s new economic hub, supported by substantial government investments and the relocation of local government offices. Filinvest Land Inc. continues to develop CDM, recognized as the largest master-planned, integrated city in the district, offering various real estate investment opportunities. Residential projects like Amalfi and San Remo provide housing options for those considering relocation or investment in South Road Properties.

In addition to the residential clusters, CDM is home to IL Corso Filinvest Mall, the only shopping and dining development by the sea. During the Sinulog Festival, attendees explored retail and dining options at this exciting three-day event.
