On July 15, Cebu made history as it successfully concluded its inaugural qualifier round for Red Bull Dance Your Style at Trademark Cebu. This thrilling event marked a significant and exhilarating milestone in this year’s highly anticipated dance competition.
In a showcase of extraordinary talent and boundless creativity, 16 dancers from the region took center stage, igniting an electric atmosphere on the dance floor. The performances left no doubt that Cebu is a powerhouse of dance talent, with each artist giving their all in an awe-inspiring display.
Among the standouts, Shihan Maui, widely known as Baby Titan in the dance world, emerged as the crowned champion. His performance was nothing short of exceptional, captivating the audience with his unique style, precise moves, and artistic expression.
In a heartfelt interview, Maui shared, “Winning the regional tournament for Red Bull Dance Your Style competition is a lifelong dream fulfilled. Since I was a child, I’ve been captivated by the power of dance and the thrill of competition. It’s been a journey of countless rehearsals, pushing my limits, and never giving up on my passion. Adding to the excitement, three other contestants—JPY, Taw, and Nemesis—stood out in the competition, securing their spots in the top 4. Notably, Nemesis became the competition’s only female finalist, showcasing the incredible diversity and inclusivity of talent in Cebu.
As the regional qualifiers in Cebu conclude, attention now shifts to the upcoming qualifiers in Manila, scheduled to take place on July 22 at URBN QC.
The top 4 finalists from each qualifier will progress to the National Finals in September, and from there, the ultimate winner will earn their place in the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals in Frankfurt, Germany, slated for November.
