Canon has recently unveiled the imagePROGRAF TM Series, a line of large-format printers tailored for various settings including corporate offices, engineering offices, and print shops. This new range comprises models like the imagePROGRAF TM-5240, TM-5340, TM-5250, TM-5255, TM-5350, and TM-5355, offering both single-function and multifunctional printer options, along with optional large format color scanners, to cater to diverse printing demands. With the capability of producing vibrant prints swiftly on plain paper, the TM Series boasts a sleek design featuring a flat top, facilitating easy roll paper setup.

Enhanced Print Speed and Streamlined Applications
The printers are powered by a new image processing engine, “L-COA PRO II,” ensuring swift startup from sleep mode and high productivity for printing drawings and posters. This engine accelerates data processing for continuous printing. For instance, the TM-5350/5355 can produce approximately 3.2 sheets of A1 landscape prints per minute on plain paper using the fastest print mode, marking a 28% increase in speed compared to conventional models based on internal testing.
The printers support the “Direct Print Plus” application, enabling the batch transfer of urgent print jobs in various file formats with simple drag-and-drop functionality to the printers.
Moreover, users can create posters and flyers using the “PosterArtist” web application, customizing new designs from an extensive template library.
High-Quality Vivid Prints
The revamped image processing technology ensures vivid color reproduction. The addition of a newly developed magenta ink enhances red color development, reproducing intricate details in CAD drawings and high-quality posters even on plain paper.
The printers utilize all-color pigment ink for posters and layouts, ensuring long-lasting prints without easy fading. Borderless posters using roll papers can be produced without the need for margin trimming. The color calibration function corrects output color variations, ensuring stable and optimal print quality.
User-Friendly Design
All models feature a new flat-top design for effortless daily operations, allowing easy media loading by placing roll paper on top of the printer. Additionally, paper type detection and a wider printer panel displaying paper type and remaining roll paper estimation enhance user convenience.
The operating noise during printing, notably for TM-5240/5340, has been significantly reduced to about 39dB, approximately 1/3 of the conventional model, ensuring a quieter printing environment.
Environmentally Friendly in Product Packaging
In reduction of environmental impact, this is the first Canon large format inkjet printer with cardboard product packaging instead of Styrofoam.
