Araneta City hosts PH attempt on the world record for largest pork dishes display

On March 1, Araneta City successfully hosted the country’s Guinness World Record attempt for the largest variety of pork dishes on display at the Quantum Skyview of the New Gateway Mall 2.

With the goal of promoting food security, safety, the sovereignty of the regional agricultural industry, and tourism, the National Federation of Hog Farmers, Inc. launched the three-day National Hog Festival 2024 with this event.

Pop-up booths lined the aisles showcasing 341 pork dishes that were prepared by participating restaurants and culinary schools. Institutions like the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Robina Farms, Universal Robina, Del Monte, Perpetual Help College of Manila – College of International Hospitality Management, National University – Dasmarinas, and University of Perpetual Help System were among those that took part.

Participating in the event were restaurants located in Araneta City, including Tung Lok Seafood, Mango Tree Café, Bacolod Chicken Inasal, Mesa, Tim Ho Wan, Pound Flatterie, Hawker Chan, Cabalen, Tindeli, and the soon-to-open Vikings. Only 313 of the 341 dishes satisfied the Guinness requirements.

After evaluating the dishes and consulting with hog industry experts, Sonia Ushiroguchi, the official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, officially declared the new world record.
