Amidst the busy Ortigas Business District in San Miguel Avenue, is Binondo’s Chinatown-inspired interior of Horizon Cafe. It will give you the pleasure of a warm and cozy all-day dining ambiance.
The Ortigas (and also Makati) branch of Horizon Cafe differs from its Iloilo and Pasay branch as it offers exclusive Asian Specials on its menu, namely Five Spice Chicken, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Dimsum Selection (Beancurd Roll, Siomai, and Radish Cake), and Peking Style Pork that was exhibited on the launch. These Chinese food specials gave us culinary experience as if we were in Binondo!
Aside from those mentioned, some of Horizon’s Best menu such as Beef Kare-Kare and Horizon’s Beef Cansi were enjoyed through the night! There has been also a live demonstration of the Pomelo Shrimp Salad recipe which made the guests anticipate it. Of course, dessert will never miss, the perfect end of the night’s banquet is their very own Ube Cake and Mocha Cake.
The most remarkable and must-try menu from the cafe’s opening is Horizon’s Beef Cansi, Peking Style Pork, and especially, the Pomelo Shrimp Salad.
Pomelo Shrimp Salad
This refreshing appetizer salad is bursting with flavors and texture! The perfect balance of citrusy flavor from the pomelo and calamansi, saltiness, sweetness, and a tinge of spiciness from the secret paste of the dressing offers an extraordinary experience for an appetizer! The salad was light but also somehow heavy because of the nachos, the twist they incorporated to add extra crunch to the base of the salad, which is the fresh vegetables. The poached shrimp also added extra texture due to its juiciness.
