AirAsia Philippines: Prepared for Holy Week Exodus

*AirAsia advices guests to try alternative destinations for the Holy Week

With less than two weeks remaining before Holy Week, AirAsia Philippines has affirmed its full readiness to accommodate and safely transport guests traveling to various provinces for pilgrimage activities. The scorching summer heat is expected to drive people away from the Metro and towards different island destinations.

To ensure smooth operations during Holy Week and the upcoming summer holiday, AirAsia Philippines has bolstered its workforce by hiring additional mechanics and ground staff. This move aims to facilitate faster aircraft turnaround and maintain positive on-time performance. Self-check-in kiosks also offer quicker alternatives for guests departing from NAIA Terminals 2 and 3.

The World’s Best Low-Cost airline assures its guests that there will be no overbooking during peak seasons, guaranteeing each guest a seat on their purchased flights. However, the airline advises the public to book their flights early for hassle-free travels.

“We want to ensure that everyone can fly safely and conveniently during the holidays, understanding the significance of Holy Week to many of us. In addition to our current manpower, we have standby staff ready to assist during peak hours,” shares AirAsia’s Head of Communications and Public Affairs, First Officer Steve Dailisan.

The World’s Best Low-Cost Airline also encourages guests to explore other domestic destinations, anticipating that Boracay, Cebu, Panglao, and Puerto Princesa will be crowded during the holidays. Over 500,000 guests have already booked flights to these destinations for travel until the end of May 2024.

Other alternative destinations offering a variety of summer activities and sustainable attractions include Davao, Roxas City, Iloilo, and Kalibo.

“Many locals from these destinations travel outbound during Holy Week and summer, which eases congestion at their tourist attractions. This provides an advantage for guests from Metro Manila to enjoy their vacation without the crowds,” adds Dailisan.

AirAsia Philippines strongly advises the public to book flights only through airasia.com and AirAsia MOVE (formerly airasia Superapp), or through registered sales partners. Additionally, the airline reminds guests that it does not conduct transactions via Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or other social media platforms.
