This rebranding initiative marks an exhilarating new chapter in its ongoing growth journey, spanning both its key entities, airasia Superapp and BigPay.

In line with this transformation, MOVE’s travel platform arm, airasia Superapp, is also set to undergo a comprehensive brand refresh and will adopt the new name ‘airasia move’ in the near future, as part of this evolving narrative.

Tony Fernandes, the visionary co-founder of AirAsia and CEO of Capital A, will take on the pivotal role of Executive Chairman of MOVE. His leadership will be instrumental in fostering close collaboration between airasia Superapp (soon to be airasia move) and BigPay, unlocking the full potential and synergy of these digital enterprises.

Tony Fernandes, Executive Chairman of MOVE, articulated, “The name MOVE better represents us as the digital arm of Capital A, reinforcing our commitment to propel people, ideas, and innovation forward within the travel sphere. Envision a seamless gateway to travel and financial services all within a single platform, complete with integrated financial functionalities like balance display, top-up, and payments from BigPay. This will further enhance the value proposition of airasia move as the preferred travel app. My role as Executive Chairman of MOVE is to enhance synergy between both businesses. With this transition, the market can anticipate an enriched user experience, along with deeper integration of BigPay features within airasia Superapp (soon to be airasia move) in the near future.”

In this exciting phase of travel innovation for MOVE, they are delighted to welcome Nadia Omer as the new Chief Executive Officer of airasia move, effective from October 26th. Her primary focus will be to advance airasia move’s vision as a low-cost travel platform with high conversion rates, all while collaborating closely with BigPay, led by Zubin Rada Krishnan. In the interim, Mohamad Hafidz, the acting CEO, will continue to lead the business, and sincere gratitude is extended to him for his contributions over the past few months.

Over the past two years, the airasia Superapp, soon to be known as airasia move, has rapidly evolved into a comprehensive travel platform offering convenience and value through seamless end-to-end booking experiences. Concurrently, BigPay has solidified its position as an innovative fintech provider, empowering Southeast Asians to enhance their lives through improved financial management.

Both of Capital A’s digital ventures have achieved significant milestones, with airasia Superapp (soon to be airasia move) reaching its highest recorded MAU (monthly active users) of 15 million at the end of the second quarter, while BigPay witnessed a 16% YoY growth in its carded user base during the same period.
