2023 World Music Festival in Taiwan to Feature Taiwan’s Outlet Drift, South Korea’s ADG7

The four-day event is touted as Taiwan’s biggest outdoor festival dedicated to world music, and will feature a variety of music shows, cross-artform performances, international showcase events, exotic bazaars and more!

In 2023, the Taiwan World Music Festival is expanding its horizons with a more extensive lineup, encompassing both local Taiwanese talents and international music acts. This year’s event, which revolves around the celebration of music in various forms, is scheduled to run from October 12th to 15th, 2023, hosted at the Taipei Music Center. The festival unfolds in two main segments: the Going Global Trade Fair on October 12th and 13th, followed by the Our World Music Festival on October 14th and 15th.

Leading the charge among the performers are Taiwan’s own Outlet Drift and Joanna Wang, sharing the stage with global sensations like ADG7 from South Korea, Hitoto Yo from Japan, and Balaklava Blues from Ukraine and Canada. A total of 24 Taiwanese music artists and international groups will deliver their unique sounds through a diverse range of music formats, including four immersive parties infused with music and fragrances. This highly acclaimed world music festival will also shine a spotlight on two collaborative productions that highlight global partnerships and cross-cultural exchanges: Ohelen from South Korea and Leaf Yeh from Taiwan will join forces in a live performance, and Hitoto Yo from Japan will elevate their act with a special showcase featuring Taiwan’s Sangpuy and Tzu-lung Hung.

For the first time in its history, this multicultural festival opened its doors to international musicians through a global showcase. This initiative garnered interest from over a hundred artists representing 31 different countries, with six hailing from America, fourteen from Asia, seven from Europe, three from Africa, and one from Oceania. From these submissions, the largest global music festival in Taiwan will unveil the 13 finalists who will take the stage on October 11th and 12th, performing for an audience of 11 international delegates.
