100 Million Sales Leads Generated TPB/DOT Conclude ASEAN Tourism Forum 2023

The Philippines is expecting an influx of foreign tourists after the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) generated over 100 million pesos in sales leads at the recently concluded ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

With over 115 international buyers in attendance, the Philippines was represented by 16 local exhibitors from the airline industry, tour operators, and accommodation providers. During the event, the Philippine pavilion showcased the country’s diverse offerings, including its rich cultural heritage, award-winning destinations such as Boracay, Cebu, and Palawan, and Kaulayaw Coffee sampling. The delegation also treated foreign delegates to a taste of Philippine cuisine and culture through a hosted luncheon that featured a martial arts performance and musical medley by Filipino talents.

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco welcomed the guests and invited them to explore the Philippines’ various tourism products, highlighting the country’s vibrant culture, food, and natural wonders beyond its popular beaches and dive sites.

Additionally, the Philippines received recognition during the ASEAN Tourism Standards Awards, which honored outstanding tourism businesses and destinations in the region that comply with the international association’s tourism standards. Several local businesses, including bed and breakfasts, homestays, convention halls, and spas, were recognized for their efforts.

With the success of this year’s ATF, TPB is already looking ahead to the 2024 ASEAN Tourism Forum, which will be hosted by Laos.
