United in purpose and ASEAN solidarity, AirAsia, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, has successfully raised ₱15 million to support the rebuilding of Cebu following the success of its “To the Philippines With Love” campaign. The announcement was made during the Concert for a Cause held on January 16, 2026, in Cebu, which saw more than 40,000 attendees come together in a powerful display of unity.

A key moment of the evening was the launch of AirAsia’s donation drive, aimed at providing critical aid to the Cebu community, particularly those impacted by the earthquake and typhoons that struck the province in the last quarter of 2025. The fundraising initiative began with the reopening of AirAsia Philippines’ Cebu hub in November 2025, with the airline committing to donate ₱15 for every seat sold from November 15, 2025, to January 14, 2026.
“This concert is a testament to our commitment to stand with Cebu as it rebuilds,” said Capt. Suresh Bangah, President and CEO of AirAsia Philippines. “Cebu is an integral part of our Philippine and ASEAN network, and through this concert and donation drive, we aim to support the community where it matters most.”

The funds raised will be managed by the AirAsia Foundation, which will partner with grassroots organizations like Bike Scouts—an experienced social enterprise in disaster response across the Philippines. The Foundation will oversee the allocation of funds, ensuring they are directed to organizations that can make a significant and lasting impact at the community level. These proceeds will aid in post-disaster resilience efforts, livelihood rebuilding, and the restoration of vital community infrastructure, with a particular focus on the hardest-hit areas and vulnerable groups.
“At AirAsia, sustainability is about more than reducing our environmental footprint. It’s also about supporting communities when they need it most,” said Yap Mun Ching, Executive Director of AirAsia Foundation and AirAsia’s Chief Sustainability Officer. “The ‘To the Philippines With Love’ campaign shows the power of collective action in rebuilding livelihoods. Through AirAsia Foundation and our local partners, we are committed to ensuring that these funds contribute to long-term resilience, stronger livelihoods, and safer communities for Cebuanos.”
Since its establishment in 2012, AirAsia Foundation has supported communities across ASEAN during times of crisis, raising and distributing over USD 4 million for disaster recovery efforts. This includes support for communities affected by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in the Philippines, the Palu tsunami in Indonesia, and the Malaysian floods.
Building on its long-standing commitment to disaster relief, AirAsia Philippines continues to support Cebu, following its success in raising ₱97 million for Typhoon Yolanda survivors in 2013. The airline partnered with organizations like the Philippine Red Cross and Rags2Riches to aid the recovery process after one of the strongest storms in the country’s history.
Strengthening its commitment to Cebu and the Philippines, AirAsia Group is also launching new direct flights from Cebu, connecting travelers to Thailand, Vietnam, and new destinations in Malaysia, further fostering ASEAN unity and enhancing travel opportunities for the region.
