Marking the arrival of a definitive new era, Jasmine Yen has released her captivating new dark-pop single, “SWEAT,” across all digital streaming networks. The track showcases a sophisticated shift in her artistry, seamlessly combining high-fashion attitude, theatrical production, and deep emotional vulnerability to create a sound that completely grips the listener.

Far more than a simple track, “SWEAT” stands as a definitive artistic statement. Grounded by heavy, brooding synths, a thundering bassline, and her own commanding vocals, Jasmine Yen effortlessly channels the allure of classic dark-pop figures while forging her own distinct path. The track strikes a fine balance between haunting and danceable, vulnerable and fierce, exploring deep themes of desire and obsession with the flawless precision of a natural-born performer.

“I wanted ‘SWEAT’ to feel like a runway show—beautiful, dark, and a little dangerous,” says Jasmine. “Every sound, every lyric, every visual is meant to transport you into a world that’s heightened, theatrical, and unapologetically fashion-forward. This is the most honest I’ve ever been.”

Filmed on location in Stockholm and directed by Erik He, the track’s music video debuted on October 9 as an intimate, high-octane visual masterpiece. Set entirely within stark, atmospheric indoor spaces, the video relies heavily on Jasmine Yen’s intense physicality and raw emotion.

Her performance blends sharp, fluid choreography with free-flowing improvisation, using her body to mirror the song’s heavy, pulsating energy. Styled in sculptural, high-fashion silhouettes that slice through the shadowy backdrops, Yen commands the screen effortlessly, seamlessly infusing Stockholm’s signature avant-garde design aesthetic into every frame.

“SWEAT” serves as a major turning point for 22-year-old Jasmine Yen, serving as her first major launch under her own independent banner. Shedding the teen perspective of her debut album Tbh and the wistful tones of her 2024 track “Forever 19,” she embraces a bolder, darker sonic identity with total creative autonomy. Backed by milestones like a Berklee College of Music half-scholarship and an RTHK Top Ten International Gold Song designation for “Forever 19,” this release marks a triumphant era of self-determination.

“Going independent has given me the freedom to take risks and be completely unapologetic about what I want to create,” she reflects. “‘SWEAT’ is the truest representation of who I am right now—expressive, theatrical, and completely free. This is just the beginning.”

With its runway-ready energy, cinematic ambition, and fearless creative vision, “SWEAT” sets the stage for an electrifying new chapter in Jasmine Yen’s career—on her own terms.

“SWEAT” is out now on all streaming platforms. Listen here.
