A New Chapter Set 50 Years After ‘Blade Runner 2049’
Set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, the new series returns to a Los Angeles that has been reborn, but not through humanity alone.
The story follows Cora, a fugitive who has spent her life assuming different identities to survive. In a final attempt to escape her past, she takes on one last identity as a Blade Runner. Her mission brings her together with Olwen, a Replicant who has only days left to live.
Together, they hunt down a runaway whose hidden truth threatens to unravel the fragile stability of their city. As the investigation unfolds, the series is set to explore the complex relationship between humans and Replicants in a world where identity, survival, and the meaning of humanity remain central questions.

Continuing the Legacy of the ‘Blade Runner’ Franchise
The original Blade Runner established a lasting influence on science fiction through its portrayal of a dystopian future shaped by advanced technology and questions about what makes someone human. Its sequel, Blade Runner 2049, starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, continued that legacy and received five Academy Award nominations, winning for Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects.
With Blade Runner 2099, the franchise expands its timeline once again, bringing its distinctive futuristic setting and philosophical themes to a limited television series.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Alcon Television Group, the upcoming series is among Alcon’s television projects, following its work on productions such as The Expanse and the Emmy-nominated documentary The Defiant Ones.
As anticipation builds for its premiere, Blade Runner 2099 promises to introduce audiences to another chapter of the franchise’s world, where the boundaries between human and artificial life continue to blur.
‘Blade Runner 2099’ premieres November 25, 2026, with all eight episodes available exclusively on Prime Video.
