BINI has taken another major step onto the global music stage, representing the Philippines at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival over the weekend in a landmark debut for the nation’s girl group.

The group captivated the Osaka audience with a high-energy, 40-minute performance on the Mountain Stage at the Expo ‘70 Commemorative Park on August 14. They carried that momentum into Tokyo on August 16, taking the Mountain Stage at the ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe while simultaneously reaching home viewers through a live broadcast on WOWOW on Demand.

The eight-member powerhouse delivered a diverse setlist featuring “Cherry on Top,” “Zero Pressure,” “Out of My Head,” “Blush,” and “Step Back.” Tailoring their performance for the local crowd, they debuted a Japanese version of “Born to Win” and integrated Japanese lines into “Salamin, Salamin” before concluding with their mega-hit “Pantropiko.” They also offered city-specific surprises, treating Osaka fans to “Sugar Rush” and Tokyo attendees to “Unang Kilig.”

Beyond the live venues, BINI’s showcase ignited a massive digital frenzy on X (formerly Twitter). The group’s performance skyrocketed to the No. 1 and No. 3 spots on the platform’s worldwide trending charts following their respective Friday and Sunday sets earlier this month. Unsurprisingly, the P-pop icons completely swept the local conversation as well, comfortably holding the top trending position in the Philippines across both festival days.

Alongside BINI, Filipino artists Ena Mori and SB19 also repped the Philippines with stellar sets at Summer Sonic. Right after the festival, BINI flew straight into their “Signals” world tour. Having already completed successful shows across Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg, the group is set to close out this leg of the tour with upcoming stops in Toronto this Thursday and Brooklyn, New York on Friday.
