After a highly successful leg of their “Signals” world tour across California, Hawaii, and Nevada
Representing the Philippines, BINI will take over the Mountain Stage at Japan’s Summer Sonic 2026 this weekend. The performance marks a defining moment for P-pop as the nation’s top girl group makes their debut at the elite music festival.
Composed of members Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena, the eight-member powerhouse officially performed on Friday, August 14. Their midday slot ran from 14:40 to 15:20 JST at Osaka’s renowned Expo ‘70 Commemorative Park.
BINI is also scheduled to perform in Tokyo on Sunday, August 16. Their 40-minute set will run from 3:30 PM to 4:10 PM JST at the ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe. While the broadcast is region-locked to Japan, a live digital stream will be provided by WOWOW On Demand.
Summer Sonic is a massive dual-regional festival held every August that showcases global music giants alongside Japan’s top talent. The 2026 edition features a historic wave of Filipino talent, as BINI shares the festival billing with breakthrough artist Ena Mori and P-pop trailblazers SB19.
Adding to their banner week, the nation’s girl group pulled in four nominations for the 39th Awit Awards. BINI’s “Shagidi” is eyeing wins for Best Pop Recording and Best Performance by a Group, while “Katabi” competes for Best R&B Recording. Their international track “Blink Twice,” featuring Indonesian singer Agnez Mo, also scored a nod for Best Global Collaboration.
Before headlining in Japan, the group wrapped up dynamic stateside stops across Hawaii, Las Vegas, and several California hubs including Los Angeles, Rohnert Park, and San Diego for the “BINI Signals World Tour.” Following their Summer Sonic festival run, the eight-piece act will immediately fly back across the Pacific to resume the North American leg. Their upcoming Canadian and US itinerary includes highly anticipated stops in Vancouver (Aug. 18), Calgary (Aug. 21), Edmonton (Aug. 22), Winnipeg (Aug. 24), Toronto (Aug. 27), and Brooklyn, New York (Aug. 28).
