Kyle Echarri’s 2018 dance-pop hit “Pangako” is enjoying a remarkable resurgence, officially debuting at No. 94 on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 this week after finding new life through TikTok.
Originally released nearly eight years ago, the song has become a favorite among creators thanks to its viral dance challenge and lyric-video edit trend, introducing “Pangako” to a new generation of listeners.
“This song is almost 8 years old but thank you, everyone, who’s listening to it again,” Kyle shared on X.
Fans quickly flooded the comments with messages celebrating the song’s timeless appeal, while many encouraged the singer-actor—who first captured national attention on The Voice Kids Philippines Season 2—to release a new album.
“Pangako” was composed by Gabriel Tagadtad, arranged by Theo Martel, and produced by StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos. The track was featured on Kyle’s self-titled debut album, which was released in 2018.
Kyle first performed the song live at the 2018 MYX Music Awards held at the Araneta Coliseum, where it introduced audiences to one of his signature pop anthems.
Today, “Pangako” continues to prove its staying power. The track has amassed more than 23 million streams on Spotify, while its official music video has surpassed 14 million views on YouTube.
