Her new EP captures the beauty of stillness and emotional duality
Clara Benin returns with a deeply introspective new chapter in her artistry through her latest EP, it really got me thinking, released under Sony Music Entertainment.

Shifting toward delicate soundscapes and lush, minimal arrangements, the six-track project embraces quiet reflection—inviting listeners into a more intimate, stripped-down sonic world. Here, restraint becomes a powerful tool, allowing each lyric and melody to breathe with intention.
“I’ve learned to sit with simplicity,” Benin shares. “Not every space needs to be filled—silence can carry just as much meaning as sound.” This creative approach defines the EP’s atmosphere, offering a listening experience that feels personal, almost like a shared moment suspended in time.
A softer, more open perspective on love
Marking a significant evolution in her songwriting, the EP is Benin’s first body of work fully centered on love—this time from a more hopeful and open perspective. It’s a shift that reflects both emotional growth and a willingness to explore vulnerability in new ways.
Drawing inspiration from the dual nature of rainy days—both heavy and comforting—the record navigates the “inner weather” of love. Produced by Benin alongside The Ringmaster, the project blends warmth and melancholy into a cohesive sonic narrative, unfolding like a series of quiet, bedroom confessions.
Embracing contrast and emotional honesty
Across the EP, Benin leans into the complexity of emotion, allowing opposing feelings to coexist without resolution. Moments of calm are layered with subtle tension, reflecting the unpredictable, multifaceted nature of love.
“Love rarely feels like just one thing,” she explains. “I wanted the songs to hold both sides—the warmth and the uncertainty—just as they exist in real life.”
“Wings”: Love as both anchor and freedom
At the heart of the release is the focus track, Wings, which captures the EP’s central theme: love as both grounding and liberating. Through dynamic shifts in arrangement and vocal delivery, the song evokes the feeling of being held while still being free to grow.
“It’s about finding someone who makes you feel safe enough to dream bigger,” Benin says. “Wings became a metaphor for becoming—for growth, and for finally allowing yourself to fly.”
Bringing intimacy to the live stage
To complement the release, Benin is set to stage a live performance that mirrors the EP’s emotional landscape. Designed as an immersive experience, the show will feature warm, dreamlike visuals and a carefully curated setlist centered on the new material, alongside select earlier tracks.
In contrast to her previous performances, this show will lean into live instrumentation—introducing piano, bass, and live backing vocals—to create a fuller yet still intimate sound. The goal: to preserve the EP’s personal tone while expanding its presence in a shared space.
With it, really got me thinking, Clara Benin offers a tender, nuanced exploration of love—one that embraces stillness, complexity, and the quiet power of emotional honesty.
