In the face of rising fuel prices and increasing daily expenses brought about by global challenges, the Filipino spirit of bayanihan continues to stand strong. Communities are finding strength in unity, proving that collective action remains a powerful force in overcoming adversity.
Demonstrating this spirit in action, Skyro, an SEC-registered fintech company in the Philippines, recently conducted a food pack distribution drive through its corporate social responsibility initiative, SkyroShares. The initiative was held in Barangay Bagumbayan, Taguig, with the aim of supporting families affected by the ongoing economic strain.

Around 500 families benefited from the activity, receiving food packs containing essential items such as rice, canned goods, noodles, and drinking water. These basic necessities provided immediate relief and helped ease the burden of everyday living for many households in the community.
“This is more than a food distribution drive. It is Skyro demonstrating its solidarity and commitment to Filipinos, reminding them that they are not alone in this crisis. Even in the face of economic challenges, we hope to bring hope and reassurance to these communities,” said Iya Lelyanova, Skyro Head of Marketing.
Barangay Bagumbayan Captain Hon. Jane Santos expressed her gratitude for the initiative and highlighted its impact on the community. She shared that during a time when many families are struggling with rising costs, efforts like SkyroShares serve as a meaningful reminder that the spirit of bayanihan remains alive.

“We are deeply grateful to Skyro for standing with our community, not just through the food packs, but by uplifting the morale of our residents across different sectors, including transport workers, fisherfolk, solo parents, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and members of various homeowners’ associations. This kind of partnership brings real relief and hope to Barangay Bagumbayan,” she said.
More than providing immediate assistance, the initiative reflects Skyro’s broader commitment to bringing hope, happiness, and support to Filipino communities. According to Lelyanova, this effort marks only the beginning, as the company plans to extend its reach to more communities across the country.

Through initiatives like SkyroShares, Skyro continues to champion community care and resilience, reinforcing the importance of unity in challenging times.
