Chevron reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Filipino youth through education as it returned as a co-presenter sponsor of the 12th AmCham ScholaRun—an annual fundraising fun run organized by American Chamber Foundation Philippines Inc. The event supports the education of disadvantaged Filipino students, turning every stride into an investment in future dreams.

Chevron sponsored the 12th AmCham ScholaRun, which funds Filipino scholars’ dreams, one step at a time.

Held for the first time at Plaza Moriones, this year’s run embraced heritage and purpose with the theme “Fiesta of Hope: Funding Dreams, One Step at a Time.” A total of 3,797 participants took part, including a strong delegation of 216 employees from Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) and Chevron Holdings Inc.Global Business Services (CHI-GBS), making them one of the largest corporate groups in attendance.

Chevron has proudly stood as co-presenter for 12 consecutive years, continuously supporting the AmCham Foundation’s mission

Despite the early call time, Chevron employees showed both endurance and excellence, with standout performances from Raymond Dela Cruz and Ricardo Macaisa, who secured first and second place, respectively, in the men’s 15-kilometer category.

More Than Just a Run
For CPI General Manager and Country Chairman Pongtorn “Bon” Tangmanuswong, this year’s ScholaRun marked a meaningful first. Beyond the race, it became an opportunity to connect with colleagues and even family, as he brought along his wife and children to share in the experience.

CPI General Manager and Country Chairman Bon Tangmanuswong joined his first ScholaRun, completing a 10-km run around Intramuros.

He emphasized that Chevron’s continued participation reflects its identity as a “human energy company”—one that goes beyond providing fuel to actively uplift communities. The initiative also resonated deeply with participants like Ricardo Macaisa, whose personal experiences underscored the importance of educational support. For him, the ScholaRun is more than a physical challenge—it’s a purposeful act of giving back.

CHI-GBS’ Ricardo Macaisa and Raymond Dela Cruz secured second and first place, respectively, in the men’s 15-kilometer category.

Driving Impact Through Partnership
According to AmCham Foundation President Edwin Feist, the ScholaRun blends fitness with philanthropy, allowing participants to stay active while directly supporting the dreams of Filipino students. He highlighted Chevron as a long-standing partner, whose support over the past two decades has significantly strengthened the foundation’s educational programs.

Beyond the ScholaRun, Chevron continues to expand its impact through initiatives such as mechanic training programs in partnership with Don Bosco institutions across the Philippines—including Makati, Canlubang, Mabalacat, and Mati—helping equip students with practical skills for future careers.

As it deepens its collaboration with AmCham and other nonprofit organizations, Chevron remains steadfast in its mission to create opportunities and empower more Filipino students through education—proving that every step forward can help shape a brighter future.
