Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Brokers (CLIB), the insurance arm of Cebuana Lhuillier, is reinforcing fire preparedness nationwide by extending approximately ₱13 million worth of microinsurance coverage to families in fire-prone communities across the country. The initiative, launched in observance of Fire Prevention Month, aims to provide both protection and peace of mind to vulnerable households.

In partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the program combines fire safety education with accessible financial protection — underscoring that true preparedness goes beyond awareness and must include the means to recover from unexpected disasters.
“Protecting our kababayans means ensuring they have both the knowledge and the financial support to face unexpected risks,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier. “Through efforts like this, we continue to expand access to protection that helps communities stay resilient in the face of life’s uncertainties.”
The initiative reached vulnerable communities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao — including areas in Metro Manila, Negros Occidental, and Misamis Oriental. Beneficiaries received microinsurance coverage alongside fire safety training sessions led by the BFP, covering prevention, emergency response, and risk reduction. Households were also provided with Ligtas Kits containing essential emergency items to further strengthen preparedness at home.
At the core of the program is ProtectMax Insurance, CLIB’s accessible microinsurance solution designed to deliver practical and affordable coverage. By simplifying access to insurance, ProtectMax empowers families — especially those in high-risk areas — with an added layer of financial security against fire and other covered risks.
“Preparedness becomes more meaningful when families know they are protected financially,” said Isagani Acosta, General Manager of CLIB. “Through ProtectMax Insurance, we can bring relevant and accessible protection closer to communities that need it most, helping ensure families are better prepared and equipped to recover when emergencies occur.”
The initiative highlights the impact of strong public-private collaboration in strengthening fire preparedness nationwide. By working together, government and private sector partners can better equip communities to manage everyday risks — reinforcing CLIB’s commitment to delivering inclusive, innovative microinsurance solutions that help Filipino families stay protected, secure, and resilient.
