Taipei Game Show 2025 Indie House-2

All eyes are on indie gaming as Taipei Game Show 2026 returns from January 29 to February 1 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, officially unveiling the expanded floor plan for Indie House. This year’s showcase marks a major milestone, with Indie House growing by more than 20% compared to last year, making it the third consecutive year of record-breaking expansion—a clear testament to the surging creativity and momentum of indie developers worldwide.

Title-sponsored by Smilegate STOVE, Indie House 2026 brings together 190 indie game developers and publishers from 23 countries and regions, presenting over 250 indie titles. Visitors can expect a diverse lineup ranging from unreleased works-in-progress available for early hands-on demos to critically acclaimed fan favorites. Beyond the show floor, participating titles will also be featured in online sales on STEAM and STOVE, offering discounts of up to 90%, allowing gamers to directly support developers the moment they discover a game they love.

Taiwan’s Best Indie Games Take Center Stage

Taiwanese indie developers continue to shine on the global stage, earning strong international recognition in recent years. This year’s Indie House sees enthusiastic participation from leading local studios. Highlights include Legend of Mortal, a wuxia-themed life-simulation RPG by Obb Studio Inc., humorously dubbed for having “the ugliest protagonist in gaming history”; Rubinite, a dark fantasy pixel-art boss-rush action title by CupDog Games with support from GameWorks Ventures Co. Ltd.; and Word Game, the internationally award-winning title by Team9, which recently launched its Japanese version and now returns with a brand-new project, Word Game World. Fans can also experience the emotionally resonant OPUS series on-site.

Global Indie Powerhouses Join the Show

The international lineup is equally compelling. Japan’s retail giant PARCO makes its Indie House debut through its cross-industry publishing label PARCO GAMES, while the Top Game Creators Academy, a next-generation talent development program guided by CESA, joins the event for the first time.

Meanwhile, Pocketpair will showcase the global phenomenon Palworld, alongside five newly published titles. PLAYISM brings the locally developed Homura Hime, while SHUEISHA GAMES arrives with a slate of highly anticipated titles including BAKUDO and ANTHEM#9, and is set to debut a major new title at the show. Additional standouts include the viral roguelike hit Vampire Survivors by UK-based developer poncle; the PvE top-down extraction shooter Escape from Duckov by Team Soda under Bilibili; and the ARG-inspired horror title No Players Online by Belgium’s Beeswax Games, which continues to spark discussion among Western gaming communities.

Global Collaboration and Strong Support for Emerging Talent

Indie House has evolved into a platform that reflects the global indie ecosystem. In addition to group participation from Asia’s leading indie showcases—BitSummit (Japan) and Busan Indie Connect Festival (Korea)—the Global Indie Game Pavilion welcomes seven strategic partners from six countries, including SXSW Sydney, XP GAME SUMMIT, Montréal International Game Summit, Lithuanian Game Developers Association, BCN GAME FEST, gamescom latam, and VGChile. Together, they present 40 curated indie titles, offering players a diverse range of creative perspectives while opening doors for developers to expand internationally.

Taipei Game Show also continues to champion emerging talent. The Indie Game Award 2026 Winner’s Pavilion will showcase top indie titles selected by an international jury, while the newly introduced Student Area features teams from eight universities and colleges across Taiwan. These student booths are provided free of charge, reinforcing the organizer’s commitment to nurturing future creators and strengthening the local development ecosystem.

As title sponsor, Smilegate STOVE further supports indie developers through the STOVE Online Showcase, helping drive global exposure. The Indie House experience is also backed by LENOVO and RAZER, ensuring high-performance equipment and an immersive, premium gaming environment for all attendees.
