Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) makes his long-awaited return with Deadbeat, his fifth full-length album out now via Columbia Records. The release follows the massive success of advance singles “Loser,” “End of Summer,” and “Dracula,” which each broke into the Billboard Hot 100 and debuted strongly across AAA and Alternative charts — marking Parker’s biggest single launches to date.

To accompany the release, Tame Impala unveiled a new music video for the album opener “My Old Ways,” directed by Kristofski. The visual blends cinéma vérité-style footage with intimate glimpses of Parker recording Deadbeat in studios and open spaces around the world, capturing the creative evolution behind his most daring record yet.

On Deadbeat, Parker dives deep into a sonic world of club-psych alchemy, blending hypnotic rhythms with his signature melodic craftsmanship. Drawing inspiration from Australia’s 1990s bush doof scene — particularly the rave culture of Margaret River — the album reimagines Tame Impala as a “future-primitive” dance act, fusing raw energy with refined musical exploration.

In the past 15 years, no other rock musician has straddled multiple worlds quite like Kevin Parker,” writes Grayson Haver Currin in GQ Hype.Deadbeat feels like his most personal act of acceptance — a record where Parker confronts the artist and the person he’s always been, suspended between evolution and self-realization.

Mostly recorded between Parker’s hometown of Fremantle and his famed Wave House studio in Injidup, Western Australia, Deadbeat marks a creative turning point. Known for his meticulous production, Parker embraced spontaneity this time, resulting in a sharper minimalism, heavier crunch, and a freer vocal style that showcases newfound emotional range and sonic depth.

To celebrate the album, Tame Impala will embark on a North American tour kicking off October 27 with the first of four nights at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, wrapping up November 17 with three back-to-back shows at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles. A massive UK and EU tour is also set for spring 2026.

Over the past decade, Kevin Parker has become one of the most influential figures in modern music — a visionary who blurs the boundaries of genre and emotion. A four-time GRAMMY nominee (and winner for his 2024 collaboration with Justice on “Neverender”), Parker has earned 13 ARIA Awards, 27 nominations, a BRIT Award for Best International Band, and multiple Billboard and AMA nods.

With billions of streams, global platinum certifications, and timeless hits like “The Less I Know The Better” and “Lost In Yesterday,” Tame Impala continues to redefine what it means to make music that transcends borders, scenes, and expectations.

Deadbeat is out now on all streaming platforms.
