Roderick Paulate made a triumphant return to the spotlight, reintroducing his iconic patawa style at the Mudrasta trailer launch and MediaCon — instantly winning over the crowd with his charm and comedic timing.

The highly anticipated family-comedy from CreaZion Studio gathered members of the press ahead of its nationwide release, with the full cast in attendance: Paulate, Tonton Gutierrez, Carmi Martin, Sunshine Teodoro, and Debbie Garcia.

From the moment they stepped on stage, the cast’s chemistry was undeniable — especially the banter between Paulate and Gutierrez, who had everyone laughing effortlessly. When asked how they built such a dynamic on screen, both actors simply said it came naturally, crediting a sharp script and years of shared comedic experience. The rest of the cast echoed the same, painting a picture of a set filled with as much joy as the film itself promises.

For Paulate, Mudrasta is more than just another comedy — it’s a carefully chosen big-screen comeback.

“I’m very particular with the story and execution,” Paulate shared. “Maganda ang Mudrasta. First time ko maging ‘Mudrasta’ — challenging agad. I asked myself, ‘Paano ako magiging Mudrasta?’ But when I read the script, I got excited. I was involved in every sequence, and I’m sure I made the right choice to return to comedy through this film.”

The movie follows Victor “Beki” Labrador (Paulate), a flamboyant ex-lover who unexpectedly inherits half of his former partner’s estate — forcing him to live under one roof with the family he once left behind.

The film’s trailer has already gone viral, racking up over 6.35 million views across platforms and climbing to #11 on YouTube’s Top 30 Trailers in the Philippines. Fans are buzzing over its most quotable and dramatic moments, including:

  • The explosive Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin-style confrontation between Beki and Evita:
“Nagkarelasyon po kami ni Enrique… Relasyon! Kerida, Kabit, Mistress, Number 2—Relasyon!”
  • A heartfelt visual callback to MMK’s Lobo, as Beki releases a bunch of balloons into the sky.

Directed by Julius Ruslin Alfonso (Deadma Walking) and produced by the team behind Patay Na Si Jesus, Mudrasta blends laugh-out-loud humor with heartfelt storytelling, packed with playful nods to iconic Filipino film and TV moments.

Catch Mudrasta in cinemas nationwide starting August 20, 2025.
