TBA Studios proudly announces the theatrical premiere of its highly anticipated historical biopic “Quezon”—opening exclusively in Philippine cinemas on October 15, 2025.
“Quezon” marks the grand finale of TBA Studios’ acclaimed Bayaniverse trilogy, which began with the groundbreaking Heneral Luna (2015), the country’s highest-grossing historical film, followed by the critically lauded Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral (2018).
At the helm once again is celebrated director Jerrold Tarog, who returns to bring the visionary saga full circle. Jericho Rosales stars in the titular role as President Manuel L. Quezon, tracing the life of the Commonwealth leader as he shaped the future of a nation on the brink of war and independence.
Filming wrapped on June 10, with the production drawing on an ensemble of veteran and returning talent. Benjamin Alves reprises his role as the young Quezon, while Mon Confiado returns as Emilio Aguinaldo. International actor Iain Glen—best known for his portrayal of Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones—joins the film as Leonard Wood.
Also featured are Arron Villaflor and Cris Villanueva as Joven Hernando (young and adult versions), Romnick Sarmenta as Sergio Osmeña, Karylle as Aurora Quezon, JC Santos as Manuel Roxas, and Jake Macapagal as Manuel Nieto. Rounding out the stellar cast are Bodjie Pascua, Angeli Bayani, Jojie Lorenzo, Joross Gamboa, Therese Malvar, Ana Abad Santos, Ketchup Eusebio, and Nico Locco.
Produced by Daphne O. Chiu-Soon with executive support from TBA Studios Chairman Emeritus Fernando Ortigas and CEO E.A. Rocha, the film also features Jericho Rosales as co-executive producer. Margie Navarro-De Guzman and Atty. Rod Vera serve as associate producers.
The screenplay is co-written by Jerrold Tarog and Rody Vera, with a powerhouse creative team that includes Pong Ignacio (Director of Photography), Monica Sebial (Production Design), Immanuel Verona and Fatima Salim (Sound), and The Post Office (Visual Effects).
“Quezon” is proudly supported by the Film Development Council of the Philippines through the CreatePHFilms funding incentive.
Following its domestic premiere, the film is set for an international release at a later date, further showcasing Filipino cinema to a global audience.
