ABS-CBN continues to prove its excellence in news and public affairs after winning major international and local awards at the 2025 Asia Pacific Broadcasting Awards, Leyte Normal University’s PAGDASIG 2025: Communication Students’ Choice Awards, and the 14th Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) Students’ Choice Awards for Radio and Television.

🌏 Global Honor for ANC’s “Beyond the Exchange”

Marking its first international win, ABS-CBN News Channel’s (ANC) current affairs program “Beyond the Exchange,” hosted by Rico Hizon, earned the Current Affairs – Philippines award at the 2025 Asia Pacific Broadcasting Awards (APB Awards).

The APB Awards spotlight outstanding broadcasting projects across the Asia-Pacific region, celebrating innovation, journalistic integrity, and impactful storytelling.

🏆 Student Recognition for ABS-CBN Journalists

At PAGDASIG 2025, organized by Leyte Normal University in collaboration with Asian Development Foundation College and UP Tacloban College, ABS-CBN reigned supreme:

  • Best TV Station: ABS-CBN
  • Best Radio News Anchor (Male): Kabayan Noli De Castro
  • Best TV News Anchor (Female): Karen Davila
  • Best TV Reporter (Male): Jeff Canoy, ABS-CBN Chief of Reporters

PAGDASIG honors media figures who have inspired and influenced communication students through impactful reporting and credible journalism.

ABS-CBN continued its winning streak at the 14th NwSSU Students’ Choice Awards for Radio and Television, with students voting for their favorite personalities and programs:

  • Best News and Public Affairs Male Anchor: Noli De Castro (TV Patrol)
  • Best Television Business Oriented Program Host: Karen Davila (My Puhunan)
  • Best Television Business Oriented Program: My Puhunan
