Canon Philippines recently introduced its groundbreaking Cinema EOS lineup at an exclusive showcase held at Yellow Studio, Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City. The event highlighted three powerful additions to its portfolio: the EOS R5 C, EOS C80, and EOS C400 — cameras crafted to meet the evolving demands of today’s filmmakers, from indie creators to major production houses.

“Modern filmmakers require tools that don’t limit their creativity, but instead, adapt and elevate it,” said Jian Liu, Director for Consumer Information and Imaging at Canon Philippines. “Our Cinema EOS lineup represents a leap forward in both performance and flexibility, setting a new benchmark for cinematic excellence.”

The featured models include:

  • EOS R5 C: A true hybrid powerhouse, merging the strengths of the CINEMA EOS and EOS R systems. It delivers outstanding 45-megapixel stills and records 8K/60p RAW video — all within a compact, lightweight body.
  • EOS C80: Designed for mobile filmmaking, this ultra-portable, full-frame camera with RF mount weighs just 1300g, making it perfect for use on gimbals and drones.
  • EOS C400: Built for high-demand productions, this camera boasts a 6K full-frame back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor, complete with expanded SDI and Ethernet ports for seamless live production workflows.

During the hands-on segment, media guests and industry professionals experienced firsthand the technological advancements offered by each model. Stunning image quality, enhanced shallow depth of field, and cinematic bokeh were at the forefront of live demonstrations.

Industry insiders such as husband-and-wife duo Jayson and Joanne Arquiza explored the EOS R5 C’s hybrid strengths in commercial and advertising settings, while producers and directors Paolo Ruiz, Ian Celis, and Wesley Villarica put the EOS C80’s mobility through rigorous testing. Meanwhile, filmmaker Zig Dulay and cinematographer Neil Daza led a panel discussion, highlighting the EOS C400’s capabilities for modern cinematic storytelling.

With this dynamic event, Canon reaffirmed its commitment to empowering filmmakers at every stage — providing advanced yet accessible tools that inspire creativity across independent projects, commercials, and full-scale productions. The new Cinema EOS lineup stands as a testament to Canon’s ongoing innovation in digital filmmaking technology.
